signature question
 
ive seen many people who have the link to their dogster page in their signature. I just made prince a Dog Profile on Dogster.com but I cant get the link in my signature. It keeps saying that URL is not allowed in a signature so how do you guys get ur links in there?? Thanks.

If you tell me which one you like, I can reduce the characters, it has something to do with the enhanced editing mode, and when you copy and paste, it gives too many redundant instructions. If you show me exactly the signature you like, I can write it in such a way that there are fewer instructions.

Ok, I think this looks the same as you had it, and now the link works. I took all the redundant instructions out, but getting it to post properly is the next problem. Some people have had problems getting URLs to post. We can try this several ways. First, you can try, quoting this post, and coping the instructions above exactly. Of course, don't use the part that starts with {QUOTE=Nancy1999 ...} try pasting that in you signature box and see what it says. If that doesn't work, we'll try plan 2.

it didnt work.. it said

I think you have to be a donating member to post a link in your signature.

Not sure why it's not working, I asked the moderator Wylie's Mom to take a look at it, maybe she can help. When you paste it you aren't changing the size are you? If you change the size it can take up too many lines. Ever since YT went down last week there has been a problem getting some of the signatures to work.

Admin said that it's ok for non-donating members to have links to Dogster or My Space, but they can't have links to commercial sites. They may have changed the rules, and perhaps it just won't accept any URL's now from non-donating members, but I know that many have them.

I'm thinking that the bigger signature may be part of the problem, but I'm not sure. The signature you are now using is a size 3, and that may be too big for adding more than one line.

i just tried it with the size 2 font and it fit but it said BB code URL not allowed or something like that..

Wylie's Mom mom was able to fix it, it looks great. I don't know why it not accepting certain signatures lately.

Since it said something about BB code, I was wondering which editing mode you had chosen? To find out the answer to this go to "User CP" select "Edit Options" and at the bottom of the page it says "Miscellaneous Options" and "Message Editor Interface" could you tell me if you have "Enhanced Interface" in that box. We use to have "standard" as the default, now people have enhanced as the default, and this affects the way messages are pasted, and sometimes you will get an error of "no BB code allowed". This is just for my own information, but I think this problem is going to come up more frequently, and I'm trying to find out an easier way to solve it.
