Another puppy Hi, I am new to this site and have a question. I have a 12 wk. old female yorkie and a 10wk. male. A friend of mine gave me the female. Since then one of the males from the same litter was given back to her because the lady couldn't take care of it. She has offered it to me. I want to take him but my question is can I have 2 males with one female and they all get along? The female is 1.2 oz. and the male is 2.4. The female seems to be the dominant one. |
1st Welcome to YT 2nd you are one brave lady wanting to take on a 3rd young puppy at that age lol I have one 5 month old and sometimes he wears me out. Best of luck to you:rolleyes: |
I know it is alot of work but I really enjoy them:animal-pa |
You'll need to neuter the males |
Any dog can get along if you let them know you're the "top" dog. I have always had mine spayed and neutered as soon as they're old enough. My sister has brothers(they're 6 years old), they usually get along great(they were both neutered young), but, they have gotten in to some nasty fights at times. Infact, when I was there last month, they got in to a bad one. So, neutering doesn't always do the trick. I have 3 girls and 1 boy right now, all of them are fixed except the 9 mo old baby(we're waiting to see if she'll gain some more weight), I've never had any fighting out of mine |
Thanks everyone. I am going to get them all fixed. I don't plan on breeding female will be too small. Is it safe to leave them all together when at work? I leave the other two together. Haven't come home to any blood shed. |
Boy you are courageous ! But thinking on it, you get all the potty training and teething done at once! Good luck and Welcome!:) |
I would wait to see how they all do. You might be able to leave them together, but if it were me, I would feel them out and see how they do together first. |
