i would say that no amount of money could have buy her from me.. or just say way too much and go about my ways... |
I'm always wary when people wanna know how much she might be worth! Of course she's priceless to me but they might think they can grab her and make some money! (I know I'm paranoid but its my nature!:p) So with all my dogs I say they were free to a good home! |

You don't have to tell. Say you don't remember or that she was a rescue. I can't tell you how many people think that because our Yorkie was a rescue that she was cheap or free. |
Someone asked me two days after I got Chloe how much I paid. She said I will pay you $500 on top of what you paid if I can have her. I was appalled! I told her. The bond is there and if I sold her to you I would be missing a piece of my soul. Then I gave her the breeder's number. Some people have no couth! That is such a common question! Now when people ask me I tell them about what I paid for my house! Then they leave me alone:D |
OMG, I never forget one day I was at Petco with Prada and hubby buying something and hubby had Prada and a woman with a little girl aproached him wanting to see Prada, and she asked hubby how much did he paid for her and I was  by his reponse to her... he said.." MUCH MORE than I did for my real kids.."LOL and left it at that...:p I laugh all the way home...:D hugs, Carmen in nj |
I hate it! I agree with you. Its so RUDE! Its like.... "how much do you get paid an hour".. People are so annoying sometimes. And most people dont' ask because they want to buy one. They just want to be nosy because they know that yorkie prices are a little bit, "UP THERE". . . I don't want to tell them but I dont' want to be rude and not tell them either. But its already RUDE and ignore them. And I hate it when after I tell them the price they'll say something like "OMG, your crazy" or something like that. Then I think in my head... "then give me my baby back" |
I say I don't remember lol. |

"she (or he) would be a bargain at DOUBLE the price" is what I say................ |
Is always make me uncomfortable when people ask me about $$$ on my girls, sometimes I tell them , somentime I just said a lot:rolleyes: it really depends of the circunstances and where I'm, because I'm paranoid that someone will want to steal my girls later:rolleyes: |
I started out by just answering with the truth but got too many rude responses like, "That's crazy to spend that much on a dog," "I'd never spend that much for a pet," or "I know someone who got theirs for only $___." So, now I just use what another poster said, "Not nearly as much as they are worth." If someone seems really interested in maybe getting their own, then I wouldn't mind at all telling them how much they cost. But strangers .... I don't owe them any personal information and I would be wary about potential theft or just someone looking to make a wise remark. My family all know how much they cost, but they are all dog lovers too and realize the purchase price is really just the beginning, and even the total of all we spend on them, spread over the life of the dog, is amazingly cheap for the loving return we get every day! |
I think it's kind of rude when strangers ask me that too. :thumbdownIt's like asking someone how much they paid for their car or their house or how much money they make. I just say, "not enough for what she's worth to me." If they push the topic, I tell them something along the lines of, "No offense, but that is a very personal question." |
