Help!! Behavior Issues!!
 

Hello all, I haven't posted on here in a while, everything has been so busy this year, but hopefully things will start to slow down! I am having behavioral issues with Daisy. She has always had a mind of her own, but it seems to be getting worse instead of better. I have had her since she was 6 weeks old and she just turned 1 in January. She has always been one to not like things to be out of place. For example, a few weeks ago, I came into the house & put my purse on our pool table and she went crazy. She barked & growled at it until I took it upstairs & put it in the same place that I usually put it and she was perfectly fine. I cannot get get a rag out to dust my furniture or my mops or vacuum cleaner out without her trying to attack them. She barks constantly & bites them, so I have been putting her in her crate while I do this. I honestly feel like I shouldn't have to put her up. I have tried almost everything and am very discouraged. She has now decided to start attacking my scales in my bathroom floor which has been there ever since we got her. We also have a golden retriever named Gracie that she hates too. She wants to play with Gracie sometimes, but it always ends up with Daisy getting extremely ill & growling at Gracie so we can never have them together very often (even with constant supervision.) On the other hand, she can be extremely sweet too and I don't know what I would do without her. I have put off posting this information b/c I am somewhat embarrassed as to her behavior, but it is time I get some advice. Any help would be appreciated!!

I wish I had some words of wisdom for you, patience is the best advice I can give you.

If it's getting really bad to where you can't discipline her yourself and control her, I would highly suggest calling a trainer and asking them. Not one of those petsmart trainers, but an individual. Do you have a spray bottle at your house? I keep a spray bottle with water in my house and everytime my guys get caught doing something they shouldn't, or barking at the door for no reason they get a squirt. It doesn't hurt them in any way. Maybe their feelings a little for about 2 seconds. lol But it has worked wonders for me. I just have to hold and it tell them no now and majority of the time they never even have to get squirted. They stop immediately. You could try that before investing in a trainer.

Thanks, I did try the squirt bottle when she was younger, but I haven't used in a while. I may have to bring it back out and see if it will work on her now. It didn't then, but you never know.

Also, be firm when you tell her no. I'm sure you're are, but I'm just reconfirming. lol Maybe a good idea since you have a crate is when she starts give her a very firm NO. if it doesn't stop, follow another NO with the squirt bottle. If she still doesn't stop, tell her NO and put her in her crate. She eventually has to understand. I know yorkies are stubborn though haha

Sounds like she is very jealous any thing that you do if it not her attention then she get this way ..I have to get the squirt bottle out because of my Macaw he gets loud sometimes just because he wants to yell...But usually now all he has to do iss see the bottle and then he's not yelling

Sounds like she is YOUR boss/pack leader. It should be the other way around. Let her know who is boss.

There was an episode of the Dog Whisperer where a Yorkie did the same stuff.
