Help!! House breaking is going ok but I'm not sure what should I do when Maya has an accident in the house...I know I have to discipline her but I don't know whats an effective way without being harsh. I feel really bad when I have to yell at her but I know she has to learn. Any advice??? Thanks:confused: |
I read somewhere that if you totally ignor her..maybe put her in another room...but I am house training too and I have been giving treats when he goes in the right area...that seems to be working. Positive reinforcement...I don't know though...I would be curious what others say too. |
Whenever I caught Jackson in the action of peeing/pooping in the house, I would quickly jump up from wherever I was and say "NO" firmly and pick him up and place him outside and say "potty outside!" He pretty much knows now, he's about 98% potty trained at 5 months. |
Super advice... Quote:
If you do the old take them to it and say no, it only makes them scarred of you IMO. Good Luck:animal36 |
when she has an accident & I tell her no...pick her up & take her out side am I supposed to wait until she goes again outside or do I take her outside and then bring her back in? Thanks again:) |
Also.....when I take her out side after an accident do I put her leash on or do I just take her quickly? I ask because she has a harness leash and its takes a little time to get it on.Thank you |
I had to let everyone know how potty training two is going. I praise whoever goes first....so the other hears the praise and goes, and I praise that one. Then the one who went first pretends to go again to get the praise. This goes on until mommy scoops them up and takes them inside. :D My husband thinks it's great! They are so smart and love praise! |

I just got baby boy Milo 3wks ago. He fits right in. Chloe was real jealous at first..but she's adjusting!!! They fight over mommy. They both have to be on my lap at the same time. Which is fine for now...but they are growing:p For the most part they get along really good. It's nice having the two because they wear each other out! I highly recommend it! :D |

She hates the bows. I use a little rubber band and doggie clips I found at Walmart. They don't last long. She will scratch and paw at it. Milo helps her get them out...lol |
ohhhhhhh ok I thought you had a secret to keeping them in lol....she is just 2 cute. I guess maybe when they get older?? Love her outfits!!:) |
She has more clothes than my daughter:p They are a little spoiled:D |
Unless you catch them in the act it does no good to discipline them. They won't know why you are doing it because they forget quickly. Rewarding them for good behavior works best. |
also, when they do have their accidents. I've read from my housetraining books, that you're not supposed to let them see you clean up their mess. This must work as it only took us a few months to get madison completely housebroken. we had minimal accidents. :p |
