anyone heard of whole meal bones? A yorkie owner gets these whole meal bones and cuts them into treats for his yorkie. I thought I'd ask the experts their opinions on this product. He gave my dogs a piece and they enjoyed it. I'm not interested in using them as a meal but maybe like he does as little pieces for snacks/treats. I don't give my dogs alot of treats. I give them tiny pieces of dehydrated chicken breasts which they go nuts over. But only a few times during the day. Otherwise they chew on their flossies or bully sticks. |
I saw an ad for it in modern dog magazine but have no idea what the ingredients are |
maybe someone has experience with this product :) |
Did you buy them at Petsmart. I thought I saw something like that there. |
I haven't bought them yet. but yes you get them at petsmart. I was wondering if anyone was using them as treats. In pieces of course. |
I googled and found this site. The first review was quite disturbing, PETCO.com WholeMeals Dog Food for Large Dogs Customer Ratings & Reviews - Top & Best Rated Products Is this the same product that you were referring to? |
because of the byproducts? I use NV. so we are into food that is natural with out all the 'extra'( trying to be politically polite) "stuff". My yorkie play group feed their dogs alot of stuff I can't bring myself to feed my dogs. pupperoni's etc. Don't be offended if you feed your dogs these. I was having poor dental with my maltese from feeding her these not to mention skin issues. stopped the pupperoni and no dental issues or skin issues. even though my dogs loved the puperoni. so I've had to learn the hard way about making wise choices for my babies. Back to the whole meal bones. I guess next time at petsmart I will look at the ingredients ( they make a small bone for toy dogs under 7 lbs) but my gut tells me it will have ingredients that won't be a match for us. oh well. |
