I come with a sad story. This past Monday I lost my sweet Chloe, she was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. She was only 10 months and 2 weeks old at the time. We are still not sure what happened to her. She was fine one minute and dying the next. I have 4 children; ages 8, 7, 4, and 2. They were all devastated. My husband is in the Army and just arrived in IRAQ this past Sunday, so he doesn't even know that she has passed away yet. He is going to be so heartbroken as well. The next morning after Chloe passed away, my vets office called to check on me. They then told me a lady with a Yorkie had come in that morning looking to give her 10 month 1 week old Yorkie to a good home. His name is Reese, like reese cups. Reese and Chloe's birthday's are only a few days apart. So anyways, I called the owner and she wants to bring him over this Saturday and let me and the kids meet him and see if he is perfect for our family. The kids are very excited about a new puppy. I on the other hand am still mourning my sweet Chloe, but I look forward to meeting this little guy. Not having Chloe sleeping with me at night has been hard, so I'm hoping this little guy won't mind taking her place. So that's my story...I'll make sure to post pictures from Saturday when we meet sweet little Reese!

I hope you fall head over heels in love with the new pup ... yorkies are love on four legs!

First let me say that i am so sorry for your loss of your Chloe....now, i would like to Welcome you to YT! :welcome4: It is a wonderful forum where you can find lots of valuable information about the Yorkie breed. Lots of wonderful people to make friends with as well! Good Luck with your meeting of this little pup! I hope it works out for you...i cant imagine my life now without at least one Yorkie in it!! I have fallen head over heals in love with this breed!! :D

Welcome to YT. I'm so very sorry your baby passed away at such a young age and in a questionable way. I hope your had an autopsy done on her. It would give you some closure knowing the cause. I know that would drive me crazy till I found out. I hope your not getting another puppy too soon, before you have mourned. I remember someone on YT lost their fur-baby and got another right away only to give it to someone because they just couldn't bond with it at that time.
Anyway, good luck to you and the kids and let us know how things turn out.

:yeahthat: I wasn't really looking when Gracie Ruth came to me one week after I lost my sweet Annie B. I was sort of reserved around her for the first few weeks, because I was worried about something happening and being hurt again. But you just can't help but fall head over heels in love with these cuties and it wasn't long before G had me totally wrapped around her little paw. It's been a year since Annie left, I still miss her horribly, but I'm so glad I didn't let my grief stand in the way of the incredible blessing that Gracie Ruth is.

Listen with your heart, not your head, you'll know if it's right. :)

HI. I didn't get an autopsy done. I couldn't afford one. After spending the $500 at the emergency vets office, I was kind of broke. It's killing me not knowing, thinking maybe I could of done something different that night. But I did everything I could by rushing her to the Vet hospital I suppose.

I will let everyone know how it goes for sure with lots of pictures to follow!

I totally know what you mean about being worried something might happen again...I'm worried so much about this as well. I don't know if I could handle this again. I'm trying to listen to my heart like you have mentioned, it's really odd how the following day someone was looking to rehome a yorkie at such a close to my Chloe. My grandmother and aunt both have Yorkie's and I've always loved the breed. I'm really hoping this works out...I'm trying to stay excited!
