I was looking across ads in my area for yorkies. I ran across one, i actually went to highschool with the girl. Selling her ACA pups @ 6 weeks, for $400-$600! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

And of course ppl here dont know better, im sure.:(

I was looking in www.ajc today, which is the Atlanta newspaper. There were yorkies from $250 on up. Some of them were adorable in the $250-$350 price range. The pictures of the ones I did see, looked to be 12 weeks or older.

I actually contacted her, and she said her VET said to sell them at 6 weeks :confused: And this is her first litter.

You know, I believed I got Baxter at about six-seven weeks. He did fine... And I always thought it was six weeks when the puppy could come home? :confused: After coming to this site, I have found that a lot of people prefer twelve weeks.

Six weeks is typical for many breeds, Yorkies being one of the exceptions. Her vet may not be aware of this.

She said he was ACA, what the heck is that?? Ans she said no guarantee either :confused: :confused: No weight for the pup, but their parents are 9 lbs...

She obviously is a very inexperienced breeder. I'd be careful...

Im trying to be VERY nice to her. I dont know how to put her straight without sounding mean.. :rolleyes: I really think it must have been an accidental thing with her dogs... I was looking for a friend for Macy locally, but IMO, being this experienced she should be giving them away after being fixed. Not charging $600 for them. She said she wasnt going to breed again though...

I just meant by telling her that yorkies need to be with their mommies for 12wks. Has she sold any yet?

Wow! Are times that hard or does she just not know better? My DH wants to get another...perhaps we should look into it... We got Diva at 6.5 weeks and she's the light in our lives. She's almost 5 months now.

Shes a really sweet girl. I knew her in school... I havent talked to her in 10 years. I just cant bring myself to pay 400 for a non akc pup though. I reeaaaaalllly want him. But DH would KILL me if i paid that for an un reg dog =(

Nope. Shes letting them all go un fixed
they are only 6 weeks atm

Well, i continued asking this lady a TON of questions, and havent gotten a response in 3 days... I asked about her health guarantee and such, in detail, and NOTHING. Im glad i didnt act on impulse :(
