When the Wind blows... I don't know if any other furbabies do this, but when Baxter is outside and the wind blows, he will stop, sit in a direction where the wind is blowing towards his face. And stay there until the wind stops blowing. It's the funniest thing ever, because it's like he is letting the wind blow his hair like a model! :D Once the wind stops blowing, he will stand up and start sniffing around again, looking for a place to potty. Sooo cute and funny. Anybody else have a furbaby that does this?? |
Gracie Ruth is way more "into" the wind then Boo or Yogi. She likes to stick her nose into the wind and just inhale! :p However, if she was waiting for it to stop blowing before she moves on, she's out of luck. These days, the wind blows 24/7 around here. :( It just wears me out! I think she is enjoying the smells that come in on the wind. |
I thought my Baxter did this, because we have a chinese resturant about 1/2 mile from our house. I figured he was getting a good whiff of whatever they were cooking. lol |
My little Chewie does this. She loves feeling the wind in her hair. It's so funny! Supermodel wannabe for sure! |

Lola isn't a big fan of the wind but it doesn't scare her either. She faces directly in it and it blows her hair back making her look like a little brown bullet. It's too funny.:yelrotflm When she was smaller and even now if the wind is blowing hard enough she tips over while she tries to pee or poo. I feel bad for her but I can't help but laugh. :D |
Gracie loves the wind in her hair too! It's been really warm here the last few days and she loves being outside. But she's getting hot now and loves to stop and take in the breeze! |
I saw this thread and thought about my little one that just passed. He use to love to sit with his face in the wind. The thread made me smile, thanks! |
Prada doesn't like wind unless we're in the car. but my friend's yorkie will run fast into the direction the wind is blowing and all her hair goes straight back, its so cute! |
Snickers does this, too. :) She's got these huge ears, but you can't tell because they flop down, but she will stand facing into the wind and her ears blow straight up and back, it's hilarious. LOL I say it's a good thing she's attached to a leash, because one day the wind might get under those ears and pick her up and she'll fly away! She also LOVES the snow. We live in the Northwest and we have gotten so much snow this winter, it's ridiculous. We were actually finally starting to see the ground again, when we got about 2 more inches today, and Snickers is loving it. She will stick her whole face into the snow and come up looking like she's wearing a white mask. I usually have to drag (not literally!) her back in the house after a few minutes so she doesn't turn into a little frozen puppy-scicle. Michelle |
Wow! I'm really really surprised how many other doggies do this! I thought Baxter was the weird one! LOL. :D It was funny reading through the different stories! Quote:

My baby turns away from the wind LOL! |
Maybe it's a Baxter thing!? haha My Baxter will do the exact same thing. He sits puts his face up into the wind and gentley moves his head back and forth... I feel like I am watching a movie of the librarian who takes a pencil out of her hair and lets it down while shaking it out! lol It is one of the funniest things that Baxter does! Walter |
That is too funny! Maybe they don't like their hair blowing in their face or eyes...I need to take mine out the next windy day we have and do an experiment :D |
Well, whenever the wind blows and howls so does my Lola, She Howls with the wind, so funny. |
