Topknot/ponytail advice
 
I'm looking for advice on an alternate hairdo for my girls that will not have a topknot. Their hair is so fine it will not hold a band for any length of time and if I put it in a bit tighter their hair starts to break off. I don't want them to look like boy dogs and I would like to still have a little on top for a bow at times. Also, I want to be able to see their pretty little faces. Does anyone have pictures of an alternative hair style for my little girls?

I like to use clips like those ones, the tiniest ones of coarse.

And hair band that are soft, not the rubber one. Then you can put the bow over it to dress it up.


Or you can cut a little bang and the hair will naturally fall on each side.

I tried a bow that had a clip instead of a rubber band but it wouldn't stay in, too heavy I think, I would use some like you show but if she got them out of her hair she would eat them in a flash....then it would be off to the Vet's for emergency surgery. Maybe when she is older.

This may be one of my weirdest responses yet...LOL

Is it possible to use some of that stuff that teenagers use to spike their hair? You could go for the punk rock look if it works.

Of course, I have no idea if this would work but if actually putting something into the hair is the problem, perhaps putting something "on" the hair would give you a look you like. Plus, it eliminates the potential for swallowing the hair doodads.

My Pixie has never had a topknot. She has very silky straight hair and when I trim the top it looks spikey. I like the look since you can see her little face.

I don't know what cut you could do, but I buy my rubber bands at Sally Beauty Supplies. They are black and small and do not break my baby's hair. It says right on the bag, "Won't break Hair". I love them. I do cut them out of her hair at the end of the day. Hope this helped.

I buy from the Dollar General Store, babies terry cloth covered bands. They come in a pack of 100 misc. colors. For every day use they are great!!! And they cost $1.00

Krissie Bella's topknot is thin and it works well for her without breaking that delicate hair. A local groomer gave me this little secret and it works terrific!!
