Choco's tangled hair >< I have not been here in awhile cus i was busy with school.... anyways im on spring break now for a week. so i decided to post. i have been slacking on choco's brushing and recently started..... but then i realized that the inner part of his hair was all tangled up to the point where i have to cut it off.... apparently his hair is like that now all over the place and i do not know what to do... before his hair did not tangle like that, it started recently... and even after cutting his hair, and brushing the new hair, it will still end up tangling in the inner parts. what should i do? :( |
You could get a dematting comb to get the matts off or if its just matting upall the time you could get him shaved and start all over. Cotton coats have to be brushed or combed often to avoid matts |
We use a leave-in human conditioner on Snoopy. We don't put it on his face or legs--they don't mat too badly. But his back ... |
For the past couple of weeks I have been using a human "silk serum" on Harley's coat and it has helped greatly. I have been using it on him every other night, the second night his coat is still so easy to comb out. Plus, massaging it into his coat and body really seems to calm him down to be brushed out. I just bought a generic brand at Kroger, it was about $5, to try just to see how it worked, and I am really pleased! Harley has a cotton coat and I was afraid that once it got warmer I was going to have to shave him down, but this has given me hope. Jeri and Harley:aimeeyork |
Molly was 2 years old when i adopted her and she was very nervous of having her hair combed. The result was that it got very matted, so i cut it all off and then kept it short. She has been with me for 18 months now and loves having her hair combed and brushed,it stays matt free so we are letting it grow. I would advise keeping it short until grooming becomes relaxing and fun, then you have the option to let it grow more. :animal36 |
