Called Connie Fahey's Vet. today. His statement was, he doesn't do much for his $4.00 charge for a health guarantee! He then stated he didn't have time to basically deal with me. Connie stated he wanted to see my baby's x-rays, which he knew nothing about! I stated to him, don't you mean her scan, and that's when he had to go! To me this is scary business! Please do your homework when it comes to Connie Fahey!!! I've had my puppy less then a month and she's been to the Vet. every week. Connie will continue to tell you it's a cold and not to waste your money, it's not a cold. Thanks again to those supporting this thread about her, she is truly a mean person! |
Wow, thank God I decided to do an online search about this breeder by googling "Fahey Yorkie Kansas." It brought me to this thread. The reason I did the search was because I was VERY seriously considering purchasing a Yorkie puppy from this breeder this coming Friday. I've been searching on PetFinder.com for a while and came across her listing. I was close to emailing her but decided to run a search first to see if I could find info that would indicate to me whether she was reputable or not. Well, I guess that question's been answered... It is so heartbreaking and disappointing to know that there are some people masquerading around as breeders that see beautiful, innocent and defenseless little animals solely as a way to make money, viewing them with proverbial dollar signs on their furry little heads with little to no regard for their health and well being. Despicable... |
If you want to file a complaint against PuppyPatch send me a pm. Only the persons having direct business dealings w/her can file a complaint. I'd rather not post any further info here. |

I would suggest checking YTCA.org in your search for a reputable breeder in your area. It's sad there are so many bad breeders out there, but there are good ones too! You just really have to do your homework and check out anyone you find, even anyone that you find or may contact you from YT. There are breeders here that are just interested in selling puppies! Best of luck to you and I'm so glad you found this site! |
Connie -- I too would like to thank you for bringing this thread back to life as I had been away from this forum for a while because of "busy life" and missed the original time it was posted. In trying to clear your name, might I respectfully suggest you begin by reading just your own posts for discrepancies… Here Lexi has a cold in 2 wks after Theresa received her. Quote:
But here it was 3 weeks after Theresa got her and she [Theresa] irresponsly let Lexi choke on food and that caused the problem??? Quote:
Oh, and for above, these babies can be beautiful and sick. And God places sick dogs into people's hearts the same as healthy ones so that statement you keep saying "do you want me to show you pictures" is truly a mute point! OK, but this is the post that got me. I mean it really got me!!! I am simply a pet owner who fell in love with this breed first because of their adorable look but then because of the fact that they have more personality in their little nubbie tails than most people have in their whole body. But even before I started learning how ignorant I was in locating a dog when I found my Monkey, I am pretty sure that this story of spending money to ship not one BUT two yorkies FOR FREE to someone who is just too poor to afford the dog makes me want to go grab a clothes pin for my nose because it smells, smells, stinky smells… Quote:

You’ve stated that you have several decades of experience in this “business” and that your “kennels” are certified. Blah blah blah… Looks like this little pet owner with 2 years of experience learning about her dogs and hearing folks talk about breeders and reputations and pet care/training has learned quite a bit more than you have in your decades… in my humble opinion of course! Continued prayers that the true evils of these types of situations always come to light expediently for the good of our precious babies. Peggy, Monkey & Maddie :daisy: P.S. I truly hope you continue to try to argue the fact and keep this chain alive for months to come. Perhaps I should make a note on my calendar to go back out and find this thread again in six months and bring it back to the top of our YT list. May God bless your "business" with what He deems appropriate in His wisdom. |

I know I will continue to keep this thread alive! By faxing all my info from my Vet. as well as all my emails from Connie, my negative review was finally posted to her account. If you have purchased a sick puppy from Connie you must fax all your info to PuppyFind in order for them to repost your review, she will not be able to remove it. Does anyone know how to file charges on her so she doesn't continue to make money on these poor baby's? On the bright side my baby gained 3 oz., she now weighs 2.8 lbs., yippie! Warm Wishes To All!! |

I wish I knew what to tell you other than report her with anyone and everyone possible! |

Hello Everyone! As I stated before I will not let this thread die. A few more facts. I received my baby from someone by the name of Ruby Boyd, Connie Fahey made the sale, but Ruby Boyd actually shipped the puppy. They are selling, breeding? together, and I believe are trucking puppies for profit. Connie Fahey (PuppyPatchBiz), Ruby Boyd, D.B.A. (Boyd Kennels). Connie is now selling her puppies on ebay's local classifieds. We need to continue to flag her where ever she goes! I asked Connie numerous times who Ruby Boyd was with no response. Also she continues to state the puppy must have choked or you did something, which we all know is bogus, she seems to use the same tactics with all of us. I was able to get someone else to e-mail all their Vet. info about the puppy she received to PuppyFind. Connie has removed her pups from that site for now. Do you think posting a video of my baby's daily suffering would be in poor taste? Connie does not seem to understand what a genetic problem is? This site has helped me vent, and I thank you all for that! I believe in Karma and I can hope. |
No, a video would not be in poor taste. It would be educational. We need more education on the subject and it will also help other people who may not realize the problem their yorkie is having is a collapsed trachea. |
I think a video should be run past one of the mods first. It will be upsetting to some people and may need a warning attached to it. |

another of connie's victims here... I have been following this thread for a while now, and have been in contact with the OP about my experiences with Connie. I got my Shelby 9/10/08, and within a few hours of bringing her home she started with a raspy cough, would not eat, and began honking when excited. I took her to the vet the following day for a check-up (in the health guarantee it reads the pup must be checked by your vet within 48 hours, or the guarantee is void.) The vet said she had kennel cough and put her on antibiotics for 10 days, and dewormed just to be on the safe side, the vet said if she didn't show improvement in 2 days to come back. She did NOT show any improvements, so I went back and she had an x-ray, showing a mild collapsed trachea (cause of the honking), and fluid on her lungs (diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection). I asked the vet if she could have gotten the URI in my care or if she would have gotten it with the breeder, he said she would have had to be sick before being flown to me, she would have needed a 48 hour gestation period for the infection's symptoms to show. So she would have had the cough before ever leaving the breeder. It took Shelby about 4 weeks of antibiotics, and nutrical (she wasn't eating so she needing this to get sustenance ) to get over the URI. When Shelby was about 6 months old, she started chewing on herself (legs, feet, and bum), so bad that she had bald spots, and scabs. I took her to the vet again, and she was diagnosed with allergies, and compacted anal glands (I have to take her to the vet every 6 weeks to have them expressed, and have to buy special dog food, because of all her allergies). At Shelby's 1 year check-up, she got the recommended blood work, and it came back that she had Lyme disease, yet she'd never had a tick, and had been on Advantix since her first vet visit on 9/11/08. I asked the vet how she could get Lyme without ever having a tick and having been on the advantix. He said it was very unlikely that she got it with being on the advantix. So I had the numbers tested and it was through the roof , about 350(I don't know much the numbers, but it has something to do with how long/bad of an infection it is). My vet said it's very likely Shelby contracted Lyme disease while still with the breeder, seeing as Shelby had been with me at this time for only 9 months, and the numbers for the Lyme test indicated that she had been exposed at least 10 months prior. Shelby went on Doxycycline (SP?) for 30 days and was tested again 6 months later. Her follow-up results were great, the number was 50 (the vet said successful treatment would be if the number went down 50%, and it did and thensome). Shelby is now 2 years old and a very happy and spoiled pup, and I love her very much, even though, over the course of the first 18 months of her life, we racked up $2000+ in vet bills to treat issues that were attributed to bad breeding, and negligent care by the breeder and the breeder's vet. Including the $900 I paid for her and the $2k vet bills, it is the best $3k I ever spent in my life, because my baby has the best personality around, and is loved by everyone who meets her. I would not change a thing, if I did I wouldn't have my baby, but I would definitely never buy from Connie Fahey again, and I recommend no one else does either. I thought I did my due diligence in researching breeders, I spoke to Connie's vet and a reference, and saw all her positive feedback of Puppyfind.com, but I was still fooled. I will never again by a puppy from a breeder that I cannot visit. My next puppy (hopefully an xmas present from my hubby) will be from Cathy Cardia at Shenanigans Yorkies, in the next town over from me. I contacted Connie about Shelby's initial Upper respiratory infection/kennel cough, and collapsed trachea, I was told she must have gotten have gotten it on the plane from another dog, or from the temperature fluctuation in cargo hold, and that collapsed trachea is very common, and most dogs grow out of it. I never fought for a refund of any kind, as I feel it's my own stupidity for buy from such a bad breeder. I should have done a better job in searching for a REPUTABLE breeder. Shelby still battles with problems with her collapsed trachea (she will honk whenever she gets excited and I usually blow in her mouth and let her lick my face, until she calms down enough to begin breathing normally again) and allergies, and is susceptible to colds, due to being so sick when she was so young, it did a small amount of damage to her lungs. I recommend being a better buyer than I was, and do not buy from any breeder you can not visit. |
I am so sorry you have gone through such a bad time with Shelby. Everyone looking for a puppy should beware of this greeder. |
Still keeping this thread alive for you Connie Fahey! I'm also so sorry to hear about Shelby and wish you both the very best. This also goes for my little Gracie and all others who have purchased a sick puppy from one sick puppy Connie Fahey! I will never understand how someone can profit from the suffering of others, be it animal or human? On a different note, I have never seen a little dog love fall leaves like my Gracie, she is a riot chasing them, biting them, rolling in them, she always gets by me with one in her mouth as we come in the house! Happy Fall To All! |
Connie Fahey is at it again, she is back on PuppyFind trying to sell her puppies again! Beware any buyers out there! She is stating that I'm a drama queen in regards to my baby. I have the Vet. reports as proof. Please be aware PuppyFind will only post a negative if you supply proof. I wish others who have dealt with her would take the time to do the same. Please email any questions or if you want info in regards on how to report her, maybe we can get her shut down!! That's what I want for X-mas. |
I want to start off telling you that I support you wholeheartedly and wish all unethical breeders could be shut down. But I also want to be realistic -- you need more than what you have told us to get any attention from authorities. I had a CT Yorkie from a BYB who raised yorkies from a cement non-A/C building in FL! I got her through a third party so it took some digging to find her roots. So, I understand your anger. However, Collapsed Trachea is only possibly hereditary and can definately come from injury too. Here is what the books wind up saying that will help your case partially, "The cartilage defect that leads to the flattened C rings seems to be hereditary." Seems to be hereditary is not really strongly worded enough. But your pup had it immediately upon arrival, so maybe you could say it does not matter if it is hereditary or injury -- she had it when put on the plane. Guessing what conditions the puppies lived in, is not going to be enough either. /you have to report only what you know to be true to get an investigation going. They have VERY limited people to investigate, and they are going to send them where they have specific abuse witnessed. Get your vet to write as much as he can about the condition of your puppy at the time of the first appointment. If he can document that your pup wsa not helathy enough to travel and be rehomed, that is a start. Do you have a health guarantee? Is the breeder refusing to honor it? I am unclear what you have asked her for and what her response has been. To be truthful, what you have written here, won't get her shut down. You need more. Put the word out and try to find other owners of her pups. If you find a significant number of them with health problems in their pups, that may help your case. Do you know anyone who has seen the operation? Thta is all important. I don't think you will get much action without eye witness to problems. I do wish you well though! |
I see now that this is an ongoing thread started months ago. With another owner of one of her pups with health problems, you might be able to have more clout. Was her dog from the sae parents? Is there any other do from the same family tree with the Collapsed Trachea problem that you know of? Write your requests for investigation/closing together! Remember, write it with factual information not what you imagine to be the case. Include the Better Business Bureau, AKC (or the registery she uses), USDA, SPCA, as well as those previously identified. If you find actual abuse, you can call the police too. |
Bump! |
Another bump for Connie Fahey! Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday and great health for our sweet babies. Gracie has gained another 3oz., still not quite 3lbs. and is a true joy :-) |
Just wondering if anyone w/sick puppy from Connie has ever sent their complaints to the Ks. Animal Health Dept. at 708 SW Jackson St, Topeka Ks. 66603-3714 ( Att. Dee)? You could even send letter to Mayor Terry Kock, Clyde City Hall, 412 Wash. St., Clyde, Ks. 66938 If your serious about shutting this Connie down, that's the only way to do it. It takes "alot" of complaints so....anyone w/sick puppy, get your pen & paper out and get writing. Good Luck |
