Potty trained except at night? Millie is pretty much potty trained. She will go outside when we let her out, and if she cant get out, she will go on the newspaper we leave down for her. But at night time (like middle of night when we are all in bed), if she needs to go, she will head down stairs towards the kitchen (where we put down the newspaper, and where the door is that she gets out), but she never goes on the paper! She mostly just does it on the tiles on kitchen floor, but sometimes its on wooden floor in hallway before she even reaches the kitchen! Any reasons or suggestions?? |
My furbabies sleep in their crates at night. They are right next to my bed. They whine to go out and we don't get accidents at night. I don't let any of my babies have free range at night. Hope that helps:) |

First off, how old is she? If she's getting up and able to go downstairs by herself, maybe you should change that. Jackson is closed in my room all night and sleeps on my bed through the night, which is the only reason he's allowed to sleep in my bed. If he were waking up like that and going pee, he'd be in a crate or an x-pen! Never give a pup too much free roam especially in the middle of the night. |
I agree with the other posters. Baxter sleeps with me, but in the morning he will jump off the bed and bump the door and begin to whine. I'm a very light sleeper, so I know it's time to let him out. Maybe you could try shutting your bedroom door so she could do the same thing? Good luck though! :thumbup: |
She's one year old. She starts off sleeping downstairs and then comes up to us in the middle of the night. I sleep through her wanders. We put her out to pee before we go to bed about 10 or 11pm, and I get up again at 6am, so that would be 7-8hours she is holding. We never notice when she comes in and out of our room, otherwise I would get up with her. (although I dont want to start that habit of having to let her out during the night). I am afraid if we close her in the room with us, she will start peeing on our floor. |

You're just going to have to close her in your room if you want her sleeping with you and not having accidents. And make sure you pick up her water an hour or more before bedtime. If she's still jumping off your bed and peeing on your floor, you may just have to crate her or put her in an x-pen. Or make it so she somehow can't get off your bed. I don't know what to tell ya really, except she obviously Needs to be locked in somewhere whether it be the bedroom or what, to prevent such accidents. |
Peeing at night My Rocky jumps off the bed in the middle of the night, too. My solution was to put a couple of wee wee pads at the end of the hall - he uses them every time. Erika |
