Can I bring home Parvo from the pet store? Well I want to go to the pet store to pick up some things for Chloe but I'm worried because she is only 14 weeks and hasn't had her final shot yet (16 weeks). Is it possible to bring home parvo from the pet store? I absolutely will NOT be bringing her with me, it will just be me going, but I am worried that I can bring it home on my shoes, clothes, whatever. Thanks!;) |
Yes its a possibility. If you are worried about it just take your shoes off before you come in the house |
When I first got Missy and had to go to the petstores, I would come home take off my shoes, strip my clothes, and wash my hands real good before I went near her. All you can do is your best right? |
You can make a bleach/water solution (I think it was something like 1/2 cup to 1 gallon.. you might google this to verify) and step in it/soak the bottom of your shoes before you come in the house. While it's definitely a possibility (it happened to us!), it's probably not very likely so don't lose any sleep over it! Just take some simple precautions and I'm sure that Chloe will be fine! :) |
My daughter worked at a vet and had to be really careful when they got their puppy, she use to take her work clothes and put them in the washer as soon as she came home and took her shoes off outside the door. So yes it can happen. |
