Bad Breath despite brushing teeth every other day? I brush my one year old's teeth pretty much every other day, and yet I find that in the last few months her breath has gotten kind of stinky. Her teeth look perfectly white and nice, so should I be concerned, or is this normal? Fist time yorkie owner, so I'm not sure about this...Thanks for any help! |
My pomeranian has horrible breath:eek:. The vet suggested C.E.T. Aquadent. (the label also says Virbac) Now her breath is tolerable. Her teeth are in very good shape. He said that small dogs have short esophagus...so sometimes the acid from their tummy can put off an odor. This stuff works really well. He sells it at his office, but I think you should be able to find it in Petsmart maybe? |
Has the vet checked to see if she's retained any of her baby teeth? It's common for Yorkie's to not lose them all because their mouth is so tiny. |

It has made such a difference. You just add it to their water and within a couple of days poof....***fresh breath***:) |
yes, most likely coming from the stomach. My little guy has all sorts of issues and when he has stomach problems his breath is awful...like 3 days a week. :-( |
xylitol? Toxic content in C.E.T. I just tried to read up a bit on the product, and in some places there was mentioned that the product contains Xyliton, and that this is toxic to animals even in small amounts. Anyone know anything about this??? |
A friend of mine recommended Petkin Liquid Oral Care (it was recommended by her vet) and this has worked well. My parents started using this for their dog and swear by it too. |
Yes, that is my concern with Aquadent also. I would not use it but we do use CET toothpaste. Ellie has bad breath and her teeth get brushed almost daily. The vet says they look great...so I think it can be normal. |
