My Coco does not play with toys I have a yorkie she is 10 months old. I have taken her to Petco to try and get her a toy and she does not like any of them. Does anyone else have a yorkie that does not like toys? |
Yes, Gus is the same way. |
I guess consider yourself lucky.. Im surrounded by toys. Looks like 5 toddlers lives here. |
My Sam doesn't play with toys at all.. |
I couldn't get mine to play when we first got her. Then I found this little chick looking thing made by Kong. It has a velcro back so you can replace the squeaker. She loves that thing!!! K-mart carries a puppy teething toy that is a fish. She loves that thing too. It looks like a lure to me!!! My baby is picky....I think it's in their nature!:aimeeyork:) |

I'm assuming you have been down on the floor with a toy trying to get her to react and play. Does she like a ball that rolls? My Bubba couldn't care less about toys - but I adopted mine when they were 2, and I'm not sure they had many toys at their 1st house. But Bubba loves a bully stick or a Merrick Flossie - while they are not toys - they are great at cleaning the teeth & they keep them busy. Also, my 2 both love the Everlasting Treat Ball. Roxy will even carry it around when all the treat is gone  |
My first yorkie, Sunny, cared nothing about toys. Now, my new pup, Ginger, LOVES them. She will even leave a treat for a toy - especially a squeaky one! |
i have one who does not care for toys at all...if she gets one, she will take it to her bed, sniff it and leave it...i think it is normal - they probably entertain themselves in other ways we mere humans cannot understand :D |
He's not a big toy guy. He likes a certain few, like the rope toy he has. But other than, he likes bones, treats and things to chew. lol |
Annie never cared for toys, but I did find that she loved chewing on the rope that was on the end of her brush. I took it off the brush and tied some knots in it and she would chew on it and played tug of war with me. The rope was very soft and about as big around as your little finger. Keep trying, it took 4 years for her to warm up and play with the rope. :) |
My Buffy is 11 yrs old and never played with toys or knew how to go up or down stairs. When I got Keanu and Bear (both are almost 2 yrs old), these two are very playful with toys, paper, socks, anything......well now Buffy loves taking what every toys they are playing with away and guards it. The lil ones just sit there crying for their toy back...lol Oh she also learned to go up and down stairs by just watching the lil boys. |
I have a yorkie (destiny) who doenst play with toys. but my others love them. I just cant buy toys that squeak. it drives Destiny crazy.... |

lol same here |
Zoeybear is a toy freak. She LOVES toys. Callie is just starting to play a little bit. Sophie doesn't seem too interested either. |
Poppy doesn't really play at all either. I try so hard to tempt her throwing and retriveing her ball myself, rolling around the floor etc. Last year I got her some agility toys for the garden (weave poles & a mini jump ) so far the only one that's used them is me, trying to encourage her and show her what fun they can be (keeps the neighbours amused though lol ) I thought Poppy was the only dog that doesn't play so its good to hear otherwise. |
Yea I guess I am lucky huh? lol Well the only thing I know she likes to do is she loves to run after me. That is really the only game my husband and I know she will play. We run and she chases us barking, wagging her tail and when she gets closer to us she walks on her two hind legs with her paws in the air like she is walking. I love it when she does that!! :thumbs_up Well I just wanted to say :thumbs up to everyone who replied. I am happy to hear my COCO is not the only one.. |
