How do ya'll..... weigh your furbabies in between visits to the vet? I'd like to at least keep track of his weight gain/loss (over protective mama) to make sure he's growing like a little boy should...and my regualr scale won't even register his tiny-butt :p |
I suppose you would have to buy a scale especially for pets. I weigh myself and then hold Tricksie and weigh again but your is probably to small. Tricksie is 8 lbs. |
I use a Chefmate scale that I bought at target. It weighs up to 11 lbs. the puppies fit perfectly, for my adults and older puppies I use a 5 gallon ice cream tub and place them in it. It weighs accurately. It is usually exact to the Vet's scale or just off by an ounce +/-. It is really easy to use and when using the tub it has a one touch zero out. I love it. here is the link to read about it. Chefmate® Digital Stainless Steel Scale : Target |
Just stand on the scale and measure your weight then pick up the baby and weigh again, then just subtract. |
I usually run into the vets office. They don't mind at all and they even love to see the babies there. |
I use one of those food scales with a flat glass top (I bought for $15 just to weigh her with). Weigh in the carrier and put her inside as any open top option wouldn't do--she'd walk right off. |
Weigh the carrier, then the carrier with the pup and subtract. I also think the vet is a good idea IF your pup has had all of their shots and you call ahead to make sure no really sick pets have been in that day. We did that with Gizmo because he was VERY scared of the vet at first, and we wanted him to have some really good memories there too. The girls at the office all love all over him and he eats up the attention. ;) |
Thanks everybody!!! I'm gonna run to the store and grab a food scale tonight, since the vet is across town  |
