Does your Yorkie Need Constant Attention~? I can't anything done...cooking dinner, paperwork, etc without him bringing the ball to me wanting to play. I already walked him, played ball and tried to take him for a 2nd walk, but he turned around part of the way down the street wanting to go home. Anyone else experience this contant attention with their Yorkie~? He's now 1.5 years old. I love to play with him but can't 24/7. Lately, he's needing a lot of attention. Any ideas why~? |
Well, Nolee is very needy also. My DH says its my fault b/c I spoiled him. He is 2. I find it helps when I bring him to doggied daycare. I think he does this b/c he is bored and needs to socialize with other dogs. I try to bring him to daycare once a week! :animal-pa |
I hear ya! Hmmm, Roxie has gotten that way in the last few months too. Right now she is jumping in and out of my lap and bringing me her ball. She will be 2 in April- so she was about the same age when this started. I think maybe because she's home alone all day, she wants to play when I'm here. On the weekends when we sleep in she is not quite as needy. Is your Yorkie home alone much? |
Gus needs constant attention. Unfortunatley he has no interest in playing ball. Squirt was like your guy, but lost interest in playing ball when he was 11 years old. I miss the ball playing. I wonder if a Yorkie playmate would help? |
Yes! Peanut is almost 2 (in may) and he is the same way! My hubby says the same thing! Its my fault because I spoiled him all this time  Peanut is kind of a baby too, and he says thats my fault as well :D ahh oh well. I dont know why, they just get so attached to us, and want to be with us 24/7 Peanut is so bad when he sees me grab my keys he automaticly thinks HE is going with and will do his 3 -60's and run to the front door and wait for me..then I feel bad if I cant take him:(.... |
With Mac it is constant...if I walk he walks if I stop he stops I sleep he sleeps....That is one reason I got Maci to keep him company... didnt matter, He is still the same..(she is very independent)................. My DH calls him "the shadow"......He is my lovey boy..my buddy! Im grateful tho, he doesnt have separation anxiety, when its time for me to go out he knows and gets on his couch and he is fine. |

I've been told he is spoiled, but I don't know how he is really....but I guess he is. I have never taken him to a doggie daycare. He cringes when I take him to the groomers and doesn't want to leave my arms. He tries to get back into my arms or shoulder, if you know what I mean~? At times he's at home alone perhaps too long, at times he's not. There are times I can take him where I go and he just loves riding in the car or just by my side, I believe. Today, he was just jumping all around ready to go for a ride and wasn't happy he wasn't going. Probably would of taken him, but he didn't eat his breakfast (or at all today). When I have the usual repair men over here, they have told me he sleeps when I am not here. Someone told me today, perhaps he needs a playmate. I have thought about it, but he may get jealous as he did when I petted another puppy when he was a little fellow himself. I called my neighbor whom is his best buddy and whom he hasn't seen much lately. Bow-Wow, is a Lab/Husky mix and they love to take walks together. I suggested a sleepover, but her husband wasn't fond of the idea since that is his dog and best buddy out of the 3 dogs they have. They suggested me to bring him over and for me to leave him for short periods of time with them to see how he would do. |
One more thing, Maxwell doesn't know how to play. I walked him today in a different neighborhood and ran into one gal out of three I knew whom were walking their dogs. The shiz sue (sp) tried to play with Maxwell, but he didn't know how or maybe he was scared. The docksand (sp) and shiz sue (sp) play together and Maxwell looked at them, like huh? To me, it looked like they were fighting, but the women told me they were playing. Is this normal for Maxwell not to know how to play~? |
What really cracks me up is when you shut the bathroom door Tootsie howls like I am breaking her heart and Samantha scratches the door the whole time!!! Lol Are they never going to get it that I will eventually come out or better yet that is the only way to get out? Lol My other 2 furbabies are pom poos and they never act like this..... hmmmmmm All I can say if reincarnation exists I want to come back as spoiled as all my furbabies:aimeeyork:animal-pa:animal-pa!!!!! |

My sister has two yorkies that constantly wants play ball so when she does want to stop playing with them she takes both of there balls and shows them the ball and puts the balls in a drawer and tells them no ball and they are now trained by her doing this. |
The dogs follow me everywhere, I can't get up to go to the bathroom, get a drink of water, walk to the other room to get something, they have to get up and follow me. My daughter said it reminds her of the scientist Konrad Lorenz that had the ducklings imprint on him and followed him everywhere. the yorkies are my ducklings. |

thats funny! Reminds me when my son(23yrs) and daughter(almost 19) was little they would lay by the bathroom door and stick their tiny fingers underneath the door and put their mouth really close to the crack and say "mommy you done yet!" "come out now"..sniff sniff tear!:cry8::cry8: |
