Today is Maya's spay day
 
Well I guess the baby has to become a young woman at some point in time. Today Mika and I dropped Maya off early for her spay....baby teeth pulling.... and micro chip.

She seemed smaller to me than ever, and I wonder how you can do all of that to something barely 3 pounds.

I wonder does she think I have abandoned her, and how she will feel about me dropping her off for all of these awful things to happen to her.

Mika on the other hand was like....oh goodie, we're leaving THAT ONE, good, come on let's go.

Right now she is enjoying being the only child and out of the crate for a change.

awww, poor Maya. Well keep her in my prayers today. :hands: Please let us know when you hear she's out of surgery.

Oh, poor baby. I applaud you for looked out for her future health and having her spayed. Good for you!

Have you heard from your vet yet? I call them at the appointed time and they are always happy that owners call and get updates on how your baby's doing.

Does she have to stay the night? Will you be home with her tomorrow? For me the first two days were always the scarriest.

We'll keep Maya in our prayers. Enjoy your one on one time with Mika.

Thanks everyone,

I came back to post a recent picture of her. This is Maya curled up with a ceramic cat that belonged to my mom. They were almost in the same position.

Ok the vet is not doing her surgery at any particular time during the day . I was told to wait on a phone call from them and then come and get her, she is not staying overnight.

Honestly I am finding Mika the "only child" to be a much better dog. She's cool laid back, and no problem, no potty issues today, just relaxed and enjoying being in whatever room I'm in.

I just picked Maya up, she seems to be fine, just wanted to lay on me all the way home. Bit groggy, but doesn't seem to be in pain. They said, no food or water, and no outside off a leash. 7 days and she should be good to go.

Thank you to all who asked about her...I guess she's a young lady now.

So glad to hear she made it home with no problems. No matter how old she gets she will still be your baby :o)

Thank you everyone

Keeping them apart is quite the task. Mika plays so rough with her anyway.

I gave her a boiled egg this morning, it's the first time she has eaten since Sunday evening. I have her in her crate, and take her out for potty breaks. I can hear her whimper when I pick her up, so I guess that hurts,

I'll be so glad when she is feeling better. I feel so sorry for her. She's so little.
