Please read this heartbreaking story! This story is not about a yorkie but about a six month old shepherd mix. I am a member of the ASPCA and I am on their mailing list. This story brought tears to my eyes and I signed the petition to have the person who did this brought up on criminal charges. This sorry sub-human beat a six month old puppy to death. A message from anna to all members of Helping Animals on ASPCA Online Community! Karley needs your help. 'How can any human being just murder a puppy for no reason' Shelley Toole says fighting through tears. Karley was a six month old shepherd mix. What may surprise many people is that the neighbor is Los Angeles County Fire Chief Glynn Johnson. On online biography lists a 30 year stellar career with the department. But his neighbors of the last ten years have a very different picture of the man. The Tooles say that Monday night, Karley got out, (speculation is that Glynn let her out)and went over to neighbor Travis Staggs home, he lives on the other side of Glynn Johnsons house. Staggs said he was walking Karley home when Glynn Johnson stepped in and said that he would take the dog back home. Staggs said that he reluctantly handed over the puppy and that’s when it happened in Johnsons front yard.Staggs says that Johnson simply started beating the dog and that the dog did not attack Johnson first. According to the eyewitness, Johnson hit the dog repeatedly with a closed fist, put his hands in the puppys mouth and broke its jaws, and eventually beat the dog over the head repeatedly with a large rock from the front yard. Staggs said that he tried to intervene but he couldn't. The Tooles later had to have Karley put down due to the extent of her injuries. The Tooles say that there is a "history of violence" with Glynn Johnson and deputies are looking into these claims as well. "This man needs to go to prison for what he did", says Shelley Toole. She adds, "Karley was my baby and he took her away from me" Article from KTLA. PLEASE GO TO http://www.justice4karley.com and sign the petition. there is a lot more information and events posted. |
Oh my heavens. He needs to be in jail, without a doubt. What a monster. |
OMG. This is horrendous!! This person should be put away, he is clearly a threat to anyone, everyone, and everything. :( |
What a heartbreaking story. He sounds mentally unstable-that's for sure. I hope he gets prosecuted. :( |
How sad! What a sick guy and to think he's in charge of their fire department. I wonder if that's the only reason why he hasn't been charged. I signed the petition. Please, do so too. |
i signed! |
This isn't an isolated case! This type of thing happens all over the country and until the law punishes the a$$es properly it won't go away. A few years ago the mayor of one of the small towns around me slammed a shovel down on a beagle puppy and killed it. He never even went to court! No amount of letter-writing or complaints helped bring him to justice. The only punishment he got was public embarassment and a small fine. You better believe that I signed the petition too! |
Disgusting. I worry for any dog or person who crosses his path when he is in a bad mood. |
so sad :cry8: |
Glynn Johnson arrested for Felony Animal Cruelty Charges!!! In this case the guy was actually arrested. Let's hope he is given the max under the law. |
