lol...you're probably right - I think the beauty of her yorkies speak for themselves....pushing Celebrity yorkies and expensive cars is a bit over the top. We can all agree her yorkies are gorgeous - and I know I stated that in my post - but really.....In My Opinion - her website IS pretty snobby...but no one disputes the yorkies on it.

I think she is doing a great job of marketing her dogs to the people she
wants to sell to and really I am never jealous of a job well done. I may
have read wrong but isn't she pretty much making up her own breed
standard?? Sylvan, with all your dealings with breeders I would value
your oponion but here we go again with judging someone by a phone
conversation or have others been to her home. Somehow if I purchased
a dog from her I don't think I could ever contact her with a problem but
hear I go judging without really knowing. Websites are a marketing tool
that can tell the truth or lie like crazy.

All I have to say is......... :mad: :thumbdown . Is she in love with her dogs or herself!! :rolleyes:

I must be missing the part where she is making up her own standard. From what I read on her comments to the standard is that she is striving to produce an excellent example of it (conformation, toplines, sets, coats) as opposed to the current whims of any particular judge who may be choosing a long body over a square conformation for whatever reason. I for one, think she is doing a great job of breeding to the standard, her dogs are beautiful. Her comments addressing the fact that the AKC shows do not provide written evaluation are correct and I think most breeders would agree that it would be VERY helpful to know what particular faults the judge was swayed by one way or another, so they would have precise tools to work on improvements. I am not saying that her site does not reek of status, but the point is that she is not saying that HER lifestyle is only for the rich and famous, but that everyone is entitled to feel like a celebrity...sure, there is no way I could afford to buy myself a Jag for my birthday (though if I could, would I, YOU BET!)...but everybody likes to feel pampered on occasion. Our family has a saying of my grandfather's that we pull out during moments of bliss, where we are together and relaxing and enjoying a perfect day...."Wonder what the poor people are doing today?" It always gets a chuckle, since we are far removed from the Beverly Hills crowd, closer to the Hill Billys, I'm sure.

Sylvan~ You and I disagree on a lot of issues but this one where we do agree. Let's not be so judgmental and keep the negativity off YT when not necessary. It is so much more fun to say positive things about people especially ones we don't know.

I personally think you can tell a lot about a person from talking to them on the phone. As women we have great intuition about people and I trust what Sylvan says. :thumbup:

also in regard to not being able to contact her about a puppy she sold you, that is simply not the case. She is very approachable and insists on future contact to be aware of any issues with her breeding program. She has contact info all over her site and gave me her private # after I e-mail I sent her, just so we could chat. I have never heard a word about anyone dissatisfied with a pup of hers in any way.

Some of the people blasting her for the glam even though she is doing a great job with her yorks are the same people who are ooohing and aaahing over sites with teacups and mixes and babydoll, teddy bear crud. This is where I just don't get it.

I did not base my judgement on intuition, but on references from others and my own two eyes. I know what quality looks like and she has it in her dogs.

Lordy Kim, don't go agreeing with me on something, I may have to reconsider....lol.

How very CLEVER of her! SELL dogs AND self promote yourself! Certainly saves on those nasty "Agent Fees"!

Although someone should whisper in her ear about those "Barbie on a Bentley" shots....they just SCREAM "I was a former Vegas Pole Dancer"! :D

:D Good point! I saw her website based on first impression and her poses with the car and they just seemed...unneccesary. Her dogs look beautiful :thumbup: and I am sure she takes excellent care of them. Who knows... maybe I just want to be one of her pups :aimeeyork so I can cruise in a fleet of vehicles, have someone buy me designer collars and leashes, prepare my gormet food, give me Evian water, have a personal fan person on a hot day... Ok...so I won't be judgemental because she seems like someone who really cares about her yorkies and the breed in general, so she gets a :thumbup: for that. But I'm sorry her website looks like a cross between yorkies and adult movies..haha...sorry I had to be honest..But I'm sure she is very nice. She just seems alittle over the top. I've always been taught to be humble and modest.

I read the story of Nightengale...how tragic...how can one dog live with that much tragedy. First stolen by thieves, abused and returned. Then she looses her adopted son that is a cat because he is hit by a car the first time he leaves the yard. Next poor nightengale falls from a two story balcony breaking her back and becoming lame. And to top it off she becomes pregnate at 7 years old. Is this story true??? :(

Doesn't a female have to stand to get pregnant? how could a lame dog (who can't use their back legs) get pregnant? Just curious, you may have to draw me pictures, because I can not see how this is possible... or maybe I read the story wrong and the dog can use its back legs and it isn't lame?

I don't think this was an accidental breeding... if you don't want your lame dog (or any dog) to get pregnant- wouldn't you get it fixed, considering their risks for cancer are higher if they are not fixed... and I am sure she could afford the vet bill for spaying. She also stated she knew this dog wanted to be a mama... I think she either AI'd her or the dog really isn't lame and can use its back legs. (to stand for a boy)

I didn't read the Nightengale story but from the pages that I did read, I got the distinct impression that she is very Italian - whether she was born there or what, I don't know but some of the grammatical idiosyncracies in her writing lead me to believe English is her secondary language - c'mon y'all, we know how flamboyant those Italians can be... As long as her pups are happy and healthy we should congratulate her - I only wish my self-esteem was that good - of course, money doesn't hurt!
