why is she such a cry baby? milu is 11 months old now, almost one year old, but she is such a cry baby! she doesn't bark constantly, but she is always whiny and crying if she doesn't get what she wants!? what is up with that? is she spoiled? i think it's kind of cute when she crys, but if it's not a good idea to encourage that, then i should ignore her whenever she cries. i am not sure if i should ignore her when she cries or pick her up? (because for human babies they say do both, if it's a needy cry, pick up, if it's just crying for no reason, leave the baby) same for milu? p.s. she does stop crying if i pick her up. |
my newest little guy is the same way, he is so vocal and cries over everything. He cries to be picked up, to be put down, to get our attention while we are eating, if Samson come to close to him while he has his bone, if we are in the kitchen really just anything. I think mine is just vocal that way because nothing is really wrong with him other than he wants someone to look at him and talk to him. Samson never cries, even if he does something to hurt himself. |
to me it sounds like Milu knows how to get you to pick her up... ;) I know its hard to ignore them but what I would do is when she cries then make sure shes not hurt by glancing at her and if shes not hurt then ignore her... and when shes not crying then pick her up as a reward and say good no cry!! thats what I would do... I hope it helps... good luck!!! |
Well, IMO I wouldnt pick her up. This is a behavior that you are encouraging by doing so and something that can get worse in the long run. And though we love these little ones so much, they are not human babies and shouldnt be treated or compared to one. My Meka will be 2 yrs next month and still has a habbit of whining from time to time for different things. I simply tell her "no whining" and she quiets down a bit. Even as a mother of a human child, you have to teach your children some independance, ya' know :) |
Just like a child knowing what buttons to push. They are so smart. I would not pick her up when she cries. |
Bella cries at everything!!! If a door closes and she's not on the side she wants to be on, she cries and screams. She also cries when she is ready for dinner, she will jump on me and wont back down till she gets what she wants. I guess im spoiling her too much!! |
Awwn my furbaby is just like this too! She doesn't cry to be picked up, only when she wants to be put on the chair - full of comfy cushions - it's too much effort for her to jump up there on her own but we know she can jump up there cuz we've seen her do it so many times when we're not looking! She likes to be 'placed' on the chair - something I will give in to. She cries and grunts then does this little dance with her fromt feet :) it's so cute though - hard to resist! xXx |
That sounds like my Yoshi...i don't even think he knows how to bark...if i was too hear a barking dog...i wouldn't even know if its him...but he sure does whine...i can tell his whine from a mile away...i have never in the 2 years i have owned him heard him bark...so i don't think he knows how...oh how i miss him...and before i thought his whine was annoying...now i pray that i could hear it... |
