Yes, it does get easier as time goes by. Experience makes all the difference. I think the worry and fears at the beginning are completely normal, so just go with the flow. Before you know it, you will know how to handle most minor yorkie situations, and you'll know when it's time to call the vet. |
OMG I got Precious when she was 1 1/2 so I didn't have the "usual puppy worries" but........she is my baby! So when I took her to get fixed I left the vet bawling my eyes out because she was shivering & shaking & scared to death & looking at me with those eyes that were saying Mommy why are you leaving me?! Well when I picked her up she was still so out of it from the anesthesia I was insane with worry I stayed up all night holding her & she barely moved at all which had me totally freaking out! Of course things got better day by day but I probably called the vet 6x or more. And god forbid she happens to throw up & run around the house yelling at everyone ... What did you feed the baby?! My family thinks I'm nuts.................but I just say BUT SHE'S MY BABY! MOMMY OF PRECIOUS:aimeeyork |
Its so reassuring to read everyone's worries because I am glad I am not the only one out there who worries about their Yorkie. It is also true that the more experience you are and the more you know, you worry a little less but I don't think you can stop worrying all together. I also keep checking and rechecking the gas stove and if the door is closed and locked properly before I sleep and before I go out just to make sure the home is safe for him. I also have him upstairs and block the stairs with a babygate so that in the event that I didn't close the door properly, he'd still be contained upstairs and do not run out. Also, if I see a big dog coming from far I will cross the street. But we do have fun time as well when his Yorkie friends and his small friends visits lol that is fun! I guess worrying about him is just part of life as we love him that much :) |
