My baby make me feel unwanted We had to go away for 3 days on a trip and left Laddy with his older skinsister. They have a one year old adorable male chihauhau. We were so worried the whole time we were gone only to come home to a puppy who didnt act one bit excited about seeing us and has moped all day today and wants to sleep and ignore us :(. Is this normal behavior? Daughter said he and little sam (their furbaby) played the entire time. |
I think it is. The furbutts do enjoy ea. other company. For me, if i have George, my s**tzu off at the groomer for the day, Maddie will moped and look around for him! i m just the room-and-board lady, i tell ya! |
Sounds like Laddy misses Sam. I left mine with my parents for 2 days. When I came to pick them up, Baby Chloe acted like she was afraid of me. I was like...WHAT??? TRAITOR!!!! |
I occasionally baby-sit my children's dogs, and Joey sleeps the entire day after they leave. Your baby is probably just exhausted. I would try to have the dogs visit more often; you are lucky to found another dog he loves. I've heard that Chihuahuas make wonderful playmates for Yorkies. Remember, it's not important how much he loves you, it's important, how much you love him. |
I think they like to punish us for going away....My babies always come around after a day or two. Give him time. He probably fell in love with his playmate too... Mine do that. Maybe a visit at your house sometime soon will help???? Good luck:love: |
I hope you all are right...I took him for his walk a few minutes ago and now he is sleeping again. Laddy is my first yorkie and he is so different from the poms we had in the past. Maybe I worry to much. But thanks everyone for the encouragment |
I recently took a three day business trip on extremely short notice and had to board Thor for the first time ever. He was so upset when I left, and I was quite worried about him because he isn't well socialized around other dogs. I called every day, and the daycare trainer told me on the first and second days that he was doing okay, but clearly not thrilled to be there. THEN, on the third day, she told me that he had started playing with some other dogs. I got back late Friday night, and almost couldn't sleep because I missed Thor so much. I woke up early and rushed over as soon as the daycare opened to get my baby! And Thor came out, and was like, "oh, it's you." No jumping, no barking, no squealing, just dead calm. He then proceeded to sleep for the next two days. I swear, someone else gives him a little attention and it's like I don't exist. MEN! I'm actually happy because he's already much better socialized just from those three days, and I'm planning to take him back to the daycare 1 day / week. But still, would it have been so hard for him to act like life without me is not worth living? Hmph. |

I have to admit I was bothered too, but I really think it's just because they are tired. I remember I used to dogsit for Thor when he belonged to my coworker, and he always seemed so blase about being returned to her. I thought to myself, just more proof that he loves me more. Little did I know that I would be on the receiving end of his cold little shoulder. |

She may just be upset with you for leaving lol We would leave my cat for weekend trips and when we would come home, she would either completely ignore us for a day or hide and smack our legs as we walked past just to get back at us. Just try and spend some quality time with her and she'll be fine. Maybe another puppy is in order soon too :D |
Awww! My furbaby goes absolutely crazy if I so much as leave the room for a few minutes and come back - even when my boyfriend meets me from work with her she acts as if her little tail and tongue will wag off!!! xXx |
At Christmas we went out with friends and got stuck over night downtown due to a snow storm. When we got home the next day our Yorkie wouldn't even look at us. So from Sunday morning till Friday afternoon when we took her in the car with us she pretty much didn't speak or make eye contact with us. She was mad for almost an entire week! She finally started looking at us in the car and by the time we got home she was pretty much her old self for the first time in almost a week. |
Before we got Harley I use to take Samson over to my parents whenever we went out of town, he would stay anywhere from a few days to just over a week. When Sam would come home he would be in a major depression, you could tell he missed his playmate at my others house. My parents dog would do the same thing. Now that we have Harley, Samson doesn't do it anymore because but my parents dog still does. |
