More Newbie Questions Our puppy is getting very whiney!!!:( She sleeps down in her gated area with her crate and goes to sleep fine but starts whining when she wakes up. Then she is very whiney for the next hour or so with my husband. She does the same thing with me when I come home from work. When she is with us she sometimes whines at the door when she wants to go to another room and sometimes she whines to get on the bed. I am assuming this is totally normal puppy behavior and if we treat it right she will grow out of it..like the teething/biting. Do we just ignore the whining completey? Any suggestions would be helpful. My husband seems to think she will whine less and be happier if we do get another pup...but I just don't know...ughhhh. He thinks it is from being alone/lonely. Hmmmmmmmmmm........ |
How old is your pup? Duke used to do the same to me and I think it's because he wants attention. If it's that he hasn't spent time with you, he might miss you and want to play. That's my interpretation of it. Duke is now 16 months and hasn't really done that anymore. Good luck |

YTCA recommends yorkies be with their mom a minimum of 12 weeks, the mom teaches them important socialization skills. A yorkie this age isn't ready to be alone all the time, and wants to be with his mom and littermates, so please give him a little extra love and attention. Some people say that a product such as this that makes the sound of a mom's heartbeat helps. Comfort Pals |
