Introduction and 2 concerns Hi - I'm new to the website and first time Yorkie owner and so far have found some great stuff - learning lots. Thanks to all.:D:thumbup: Sully (named after the now famous pilot) is cute as a button. He's just 5 months old and we've had him for about 3 weeks. So far my only concerns are: He's eating and playing with his dookie (eww) and yesterday he starting swallowing his kibbles whole - he's not even chewing them. Not really sure what that means. |
Hi! :wavey: :welcome4: :yorkiesar You can try giving him some pineapple to help stop the poo eating. It's not 100% but it does work with some, it's cheap so it's always worth a try. At 5 months of age, he is probably teething and it possibly hurts to chew, so swallowing whole is the only option. Even if it's the small bites, if his teeth are hurting he won't want to crunch it. You might try putting some kibble in a sandwich bag and cracking it with a hammer. This way is much smaller pieces and easier for him to chew or swallow if it still hurts too much to chew. |
Welcome! Be sure to post pictures! |
Welcome to YT. I watched a Cesar episode and he trained one to stop eating poo with banana. Said it was a lack of potassium. Check out the health a diet section. There has been a lot of conversation about this. |
Welcome to YT!!! I heard that the pineapple works too. Congradulations on your new baby!!!:welcome4::yorkietal |

I LOVE Cesar!!! If the pineapple doesn't work - I'll try banana - Gee Whiz - if I add a scoop of icecream and a cherry - I might as well make myself a Sundae while I'm at it. :) |

Hi and welcome to YT. I have used the plastic bag and hammer method. I used a meat tenderizer. Also, try adding a little water to the kibble. |
Welcome to YT :wavey: Glad to have you here! Love his name - Sully -- and I love the reason he got his name! :) |
:welcome4: Welcome to YT and the wonderful world of being owned by a Yorkie! :) :yorkiesar |
