She-ra's Mama | 02-24-2009 04:10 PM | Hi everyone Sorry I haven't been around. It has been terrible here lately. December 13, 2008, we lost little Dixie. I am not sure what happened to her. She was perfectly fine at bedtime, bouncing around when we got up, and I let her out for her normal 15 minute bathroom run...when I went to get her, she didn't meet me at the door. I found her a few feet off the concrete. I am still in shock over the whole ordeal...I wish I knew what happened. With She-ra...I knew she was misdiagnosed, but Dixie was healthy as could be. Maybe her heart? I don't know.
I really wasn't going to get anymore dogs. We have 2 chi's...which are expecting their first (and only) babies. They should be here any time next week. So I was going to keep one of the pups. Anyhow, around Valentines Day, I posted on my local home forum about Dixie's passing and that I may be interested in another furry girl. I sure wasn't looking for another Maltese.
I told my hubby the only way I would get another dog was if it was fullblooded, small and free...very picky, don't ya think.:p
I got several posts, but one day, I got one from a lady south of me. She was trying to find a good home for a friends female Maltese. Their home had burned, and she was the only pet the firefighters could rescue. Bless her heart, after all that, they could n't take her with them when they moved.:( They saw my post and knew she was perfect to help me heal.
Well...needless to say Tabby, weighs 6lbs...5 when wet, is fullblooded as she can be and guess what...they didn't want anything for her...just a loving home!!! I think she was sent from God...he is the only one who could possibly fulfill that picky wish.
I am very blessed to have her in my life. She is very sweet, has the most gorgeous hair, LOVES her hair fixed and to wear clothes. She just turned a yr old and is completly housebroke.
I really wasn't sure if I could love again, but when she does the pick-me-up dance, my heart melts!!! |
