how spoiled can they get My boys are at my parents house while we have our house tiled. We were suppose to pick them up today but they won't finish now until Monday. They have been at my parents house since Wed night so I decided to drive to their house to see them for a few hours. it was dinner time so I fed them and my mother told me she couldn't believe how spoil they are. I sat on the floor and hand fed them their dry food, piece by piece. I don't do this too often but they enjoy sitting on my lap and being hand fed this way. After thinking about it , yes they really are spoil, but I am totally fine with that!! :D |
Well just so you know you are not the only one that does those things. Try hand feeding 4 of those furbabies at the same time..:p Nice to know that I am not the only one who "goes a bit far" in making sure they happy. I bet you miss them, I'd be a total wreck without mine. |
One of the joys of owning a yorkie is being able to spoil them with love and attention. It goes with the territory. As you said, I'm fine with it too! :) |

I completely understand, we are removing the carpet in our living room, replacing with hardwood floor due to the dogs. Even though they are pretty much trained, you still have that accident at times. You be surprised how much room you find on your lap with a few of these babies. I have 2 who will scoot each other off my lap but I find room for both somehow. Or lay down on the couch and all 4 find a spot on me. :D Hope you have your babies back soon. |
I used to sit in Hot Rod's pen with him at feeding and hold his bowl for him. Hubby thought I was nuts but I didn't care. lol. Fortunately (for my back) I finally switched him (them) to eating in the kitchen. I still sometimes will sit with them. when they act finicky, I will feed them a couple of pieces of food to get them interested. It works everytime. :) |
I agree. That is one of the joys of owning a Yorkie. Spoil them!!!!!!!! It's such fun! |
Well I know our little one is a spoiled spoiled baby. She isn't allowed to beg at the dinner table but will cry & whimper if we don't eat fast enough because when we're through eating I pick her up & she sits on my lap while we have our nightly family dinner discussion. |
Im handfeeding my baby Pablo a few kibbles as we speak. 4 I love it..... |
I dont hand feed mine but they are so spoiled they whine for an ice cream when the ice cream truck comes around |
Try feeding them wet food by hand. Whenever we go to a meetup, a show, or just a visit. Friday refuses to eat her food from the container I have to scoop up wet and dry together and feed her. |
bella doesnt even like to eat out of my hands anymore! When she's done eating, we make a game of it. Its the only way she'll eat her food. I throw the piece of food and she tries to catch it with her mouth. either that or I hide the food and she has to go look for it- and she'll ALWAYS find it, and always eat it!:) How smart yorkies are!!! |
Yall are hilarious |
My Tink is absolutely spoiled rotten - her wet food gets warmed up in the microwave in cold weather, she has 3 beds all of which go in the wash once a week, she has like 4 posh collars, lots of outfits, and she lies with me under the covers by my side, and she gets soooo many cuddles it's unbelievable! She also loves a game of 'patacake' at night - she lies on her back facing me at night, and i play with her feet - she looks adorable !!! xXx |
That's what Yorkies are for.... Too Spoil :animal36:animal36:animal36 How can you resist, right?!! :D:D |
I am glad I am not the only one who hand feeds their babies. I do love spoiling them, they are just too cute not to. It is funny that my mom would comment on my dogs being spoiled because I bought them a chihuahua a year and a half ago when my dad retired and I think they treat him better than my bother and I. This little guy had a favorite toy that he tore up and I remember my parents going to 5 different stores looking for the same toy to replace it. they even arrange their schedule around his needs. |
Tobie does the same thing but only when we are out of town, even if he is with us and he has been there a 100 times before its the same thing. It takes him awhile to eat and when he does eat I have to stand next to him while he is eatting and the only way he will drink water is if I put the water into a cup so that he can drink from the cup like a person. It is cute but it gets old very fast and then when we get back home he will drink out of his water bowl and I don't have to stand by him when he eats.I just don't understand the little guy sometimes! |
Hi my daughter has just signed me up to this forum, this is the first post i came acroos. So hello I have a 12 year old yorkie girl called Amber who i adore, i have cancelled many a holiday as i wouldn't be able to be parted from her :):) I too have done the hand feeding, if it helps her eat then i'll do anything for her. |
Joey is tiny and afraid to approach the food while Sadie is eating even though there are always two bowls out and I sit on the floor with him and sprinkle the kibble down so he will eat it in front of me. I worry because he is so small, only 3 lbs. My puppies are so spoiled that I think my kids are jealous of them! |
