Hello! Hello! I'm fairly new here. I've mostly stalked around reading quite a bit. We adopted our love 3 weeks ago, and things have gone fairly well until the last few days. Shes been a loving baby, and a joy. But the last 2-3 days, Macy (our pup) has been growling at my kiddos! Most of the time they are minding their own buisness when doing so. Sometimes someone is being rowdy, but never in her face. Any ideas how i can resolve this?  I love her to death, shes never growled at me, but she has scared my son to the point he will not go near her! Thanks!! :animal-pa |
Welcome to YT. I can not help you with this, however I'm sure one of members can give you some great advice. |
I am not sure what to tell you, I have never had to problem before, but Tobie does not like little kids mainly because he has never grown up around kids I think that they scare him, maybe your baby is just intimated by them because she is not use to kids, I dont know but maybe someone else can be more of a help then me. |
how old are your children? Have you been with the puppy and your kids? or have they had some time alone with the puppy? could be that even if they didn't mean to that in some way they frightened or intimidated your little fur baby |
Welcome to YT......I agree, How old are your kiddos and how old is your Furbaby.. |
My kiddos are 15 months (and Macy and her are like peanutbutter and jelly! No growling ever!), 6 years (no fussing at him either), 8 years (some slight growling from time to time) and 9 years (ALOT of growling here). My Macy is 16 weeks now, almost 17. I did get her from a petstore (i did not do my research beforehand, and kinda embarassed there ) Anywho, the first time i heard her growling was when my older daughter was sitting on the couch... After petting her for pets sake! My oldest son plays with a her a little bit, but has his own agenda, and is usually outside with his friends. But when he came in this afternoon, it was like non stop growling and barking at him, until he was literally in tears, then she started growling a little bit at my daughter. So we decided it was Macy's bedtime, gave her loves, and put her in the kennel for a bit. Shes absolutely wonderful with my younger two though. And up until the last few days, we've seriously had NO problems. She has been jumping in their laps for loves, and kissing them in the face. Im not sure why the sudden change. And of course, im worried about my kiddos :( Thanks Again :) |

I could see how my oldest COULD scare her, He is ADHD. But when she growled at him, it was after he came inside, plopped on the couch, and started watching tv... He was kind of in his own world there. |
I am thinking that she is wanting more attention from them. Not that she wants to hurt them. Since the younger ones are more active with her, that is why she is not growling at them. I have seen this with my pups. They tend to demand attention, and when someone is not always supplying them with attention they will do what ever it takes to be noticed by that person. This is just my opinion, hope it helps. |

Could it POSSIBLY be, that maybe shes smelling another animal on them?? We live in a community FULL of animals. Thats the only thing that really comes to mind. And its only after they have been playing outside... |
