this will make you sick my friend sent this video of the Feb 13 raid of puppy mill. It will make you cry. that owner needs to rot in a cage with no facilities for as long as those dogs did. |
|
I could not even watch it all. This is horrible, I hope the owner does rot in a cage for this and will be treated just as horrible as those poor babies. What goes through a person's mind when they treat animals like this?? Do they think its ok? That animals have no feelings?...this makes me so mad! |
That is so sad that they are so matted!! |
If I am not mistaken some of these puppies were on the To-day Show this passed week and I have to say that the rescue people did a marvelous job in cleaning and fixing these babies up. God bless them. It always amasses me how stupid and miserable and heartless people can be.:thumbdown |
They were on Oprah friday also. They were all shaved down and looked cute but were nervous |
That is soooooooooooooo sad!!! Thanks for posting these videos. I dont even know how the mill could successfully breed and raise a litter of puppies with dogs sooooooooo matted.:thumbdown |
it is awful. just the proof people need that hundreds/thousands more are probably still in action around the world. the do the same with cats too (so i've heard) and horses. xXx |
Horrifying I too could not watch it to the very end. I had my dh come in to see exactly what a puppy mill is. We both feel that the owners should be treated the same way as these blessed animals were. But fortunately for them OUR CONSTITUTION prevents cruel & unusual punsihment. Surely that state has a law governing to the cruelty to animals. They should be sentenced the the full extent of the law for each and every animal they had. That should keep them locked up for a long time and serve as a deterent to others! |

They must've hurt so much. Being cooped up in a tiny space with matts of hair and hardly any water - it's so awful to even bear thinking about. To imagine your furbaby in a puppy-mill - that's enough to make anyone sick. xXx |
I know about puppy mills, I've seen numerous shows and videos of them -- and it never fails to make me feel sooooo sick and horrified whenever I see this. My heart is breaks just thinking of what those babies went through. I'm so glad they are out of there. I'm a huge supporter of the Stop Puppy Mills campaign of the the HSUS (Stop Puppy Mills). They do wonderful things to help fight this sort of thing. If you can, please support them in some way. |
I'm sitting here crying watching all these poor babies that have never known an ounce of kindness until now!! God Bless all the rescuers,Vets and groomers who helped with this raid and saved all these dogs!! There is a link @ Oprah's Website about adopting and donating to help with the cost of this raid! I hope to God they put these BAST*RDS in jail and let them ROT and then they go to HADES and BURN there!! They're dispicable low-lifes who deserve no less!! Prayers and Hugs to the raiding team and all these precious Little Ones!! I'm going to have Nightmares when I go to sleep!! This makes me so MAD!!! :cry8::hands::love-hug3:hug::hug60::big_hug::ghug::twocents: |
I echo msjagg's sentiments! I cried as I watched the first one and couldn't finish watching the 2nd one. I don't know how anyone could do this. |
These videos made me sick to my stomach. God bless the rescue workers and vets who are helping these poor animals. Honestly, I would have set one foot in that place and probably passed out cold from seeing the horrific conditions. The dirty water bowl and the feces everywhere in giant piles. The poor guy with the 3-inch (!!!) toenails who couldn't walk because his hair was so matted... I don't understand how they were even able to mate these dogs! I'm going to see if I can find some "after" photos to cheer myself up. :) |
I can't even express how horrible this whole situation is, what awful people. I don't think the general public really understands what "puppy mill" means. I know I heard about it, but really didn't grasp the magnitude of it all. This is very enlighting information that is really showing how horrific this really is. |
Those are really hard videos to watch. But VERY important that they are seen. Thanks for posting. |
Oh my gosh. That is horrific. :( How could ANYONE do that to an innocent animal? Thank God for those rescue workers. |
Just heartbreaking!!!!!!!!! What's WRONG with people!!!! So sad!! Wish I could adopt every last one of them! :cry8: |
:( Wow that is tuff to watch :( How in the world could anyone do that and watch those babies suffer like that:( my heart goes out to those babies !!! I hope the owner get what they deserve  |
Helping Mo. Puppy-Mill Yorkies --- One Book at a Time! To everyone on this thread: just in case you haven't seen my earlier posts, I wanted to share this info with you. It's working! As of today (Monday, 2/23), I've cleared about $125 for donation to the puppy mill Yorkies! Thank you-- Carol and O ********************************** NEW YORKIE BOOK FOR SALE - PROCEEDS TO HUMANE SOCIETY OF MO Like everyone else who has posted here, I am shocked, horrified and angered by the plight of the 93 Yorkies taken from the southeast Missouri puppy mill. As I posted yesterday, I'm considering fostering one of the dogs. (I live in St. Louis.) And I appreciate the advice on that issue that's coming in from YTers. I have an additional idea for helping these precious animals. On December 20, I published a little book called "How the Yorkie Rescued Santa." I made a few preliminary sales to friends, but my plan was to heavily market the books later this year for Christmas '09 sales. Now I have a different thought. For the next month, I would like to offer my books for sale to YT members, with all net profits pledged to the Humane Society of Missouri, earmarked for the rescued Yorkies. I'm hoping to raise at least $300 for the Humane Society by March 20. The book is a rhyming, read-aloud story for kids (with some tongue-in-cheek humor for adults to enjoy as well!) -- makes a great gift. An early start to your '09 holiday shopping! Here's the info: HOW THE YORKIE RESCUED SANTA--An Adventure in Doggerel. By Oliver W.B. Porter, as told to Carol S. Porter. Illustrated by Shelley Dieterichs. 12 pages, paperback; color cover. $8 plus $1.50 shipping and handling, and Missouri sales tax where applicable. You can read more about the book, and view the book cover, on my website: Carol S. Porter - Writer, Editor, Speaker Then if you're interested in a book, or 2 or 3, please email me here: carolporter04@yahoo.com and we'll take it from there. Together, I hope we can do some good for these sad little creatures. |
Yorkies are such a wonderful breed:( It is sad and maddning to see a puppy mill like that one:mad: I was feeling bad when my Suzi neded a haircut due to a few mats in her , nOT ever ever, seen anything so horrific then what i just watched:thumbdown I saw the second video and it was 5:45am... My LIttle Suzi Heard all the Yorkie barking, and she became alarmed too, she started barking her high pitched wooooof wooooof wooof and new she was hearing something absolutely terrifying. She woke up my son too by her barks... Nobody in the household was untouched by this horrific video! I am glad they are rescued and now have a chance of living a life in a new loving family. |
Watching these made me ill. What's worse is I know our Punkin came from a similar situation. When those dogs started barking, she started shaking. She remembers! As long as there are people willing to pay hundreds and thousands for "designer dogs" puppy mills will exist. It's supply and demand. When we stop worrying about status and start thinking about the welfare of these animals, when we're willing to adopt a homeless dog instead of worrying about if the dog is going to weigh more than 2 pounds, then we might begin to stop these atrocities. |
I apologize in advance for my ignorance--Are all "designer" dogs/ mixed breed puppies from puppy mills? I did buy my morkie online because I did not find any local breeders who had what I was looking for and tried to choose a breeder who seemed reputable, but, wasn't sure what I was looking for--she really did seem to love her puppies. I wanted a mixed breed puppy because I had been told that they tend to be healthier. As a first time puppy owner I wanted to minimize as many problems as possible. |
No, not ALL breeders are puppy mills, but the truly reputable breeders are a very small number compared to the number of puppy mills. A rescue dog takes no more work to train and socialize than a puppy and they love you, probably more, because they're so happy to be out of that horrid situation and with a family who loves them. Okay, they might not be absolutely perfect, but unless you're going to show them it doesn't make a difference if their front teeth are a little crooked or their nose is a little longer, or they weigh 6 pounds instead of 2. It takes a little work, sometimes, to find the adopted/rescue dog you want, but they're out there. |
