Relax and be Happy Mary and just embrace this miracle!! Yoshi will come around in no time. |
I'm glad you and Yoshi are back together. Happy for both of you. |
Sending warm thoughts and prayers to Mary and Yoshi today. I hope his dental went ok, poor little guy. That will be another adjustment for him, losing teeth, but the only way to ensure his health. Time will heal all of this, and I hope they are doing well, one day at a time. |
Just give him time, time will heal all wounds. Hugs for you sweet Mary & kisses for Yoshi! |
Awww he probably is super freaked & stressed. Poor guy. I am sure he will come around in no time. Being taken right to the vet and put under for a dental probably has him really worked up, too. I know Jackson hates me after I bring him to the vet for about 48hours, same thing with after he went under for a dental. This is my sidekick, my pride & joy, my baby and he literally slept under the bed all night and gave me the cold shoulder all day after I got his teeth cleaned. Yoshi hasn't seen you in 5 years. I simply can't imagine what's going on in his little mind. I think he will come around, and I am just so happy he is back in your arms after all this time. I recall reading this thread when I first joined, Jackson is now 5yrs old, so it's just mindblowing. |
Thinking of you and Yoshi...hope he is doing well after his dental. |

Mary he will get better with you! It is a miracle and he is so precious....He will remember given time............:) |
Hoping to hear how Yoshi's doing, please update when you can. Thoughts are with you!!! |
Hoping things are going ok and that Yoshi did ok after his dental. If only he could talk. Poor baby. Being snatched from his loving home, going through who knows what in the past 5 years, wondering if he will ever see his mommy again and if he will ever be back in a loving caring home. My heart breaks for him and what he may have gone through. Now he is finally back with "mommy". Please update when you can. |
I am sorry he did not remember you at first. All of his circumstances are different. I do think he will remember, though...there will be a place or situation...something that will be familiar to him and cause him to recall old memories...and he will put it together. I know that happens to me...things long 'forgotten' suddenly come flooding back in finite detail. At least he is found and back where he belongs. What an experience for you and Yoshi! Wow! |
Just thinkin' of you and sending good thoughts to you and Yoshi. |
3 Attachment(s) Been meaning to update but with having to get everything done with Yoshi and some business while I was home I didn't have time to just sit down. but we are back in MS now since I had to be back at work today. Got in late last night. His dental went good, they had to pull out majority of his teeth and then cleaned what was left of the tartar buildup. When looking in his mouth the only teeth i see up front are his (4) k-9 teeth. He has been on pain meds but is now off. He has another dose or 2 of his antibiotics. He ate kibbles this morning so I am guessing his mouth is feeling better. I really don't like feeing wet food. But if I had to I do have some Cesar wet food on hand. Yoshi is coming around and doesn't have a problem barking at me when he wants something. Here are a few pictures I just took of my 3 boys in their new matching cave like beds. I can safely say they give it 2 paws up. And since I stay in an apartment here while working I don't take them out to the grass area so instead i setup a potty section in the screen in patio. So Yoshi is going to have to learn a new routine on top of everything else. So far the 3 boys don't seem to mind each other. And once we get settled back in I am going to shave Yoshi's body hair to start fresh. Going to have to get him some harness vests made, hopefully i can get it to match my other 6 matching outfits. Hopefully the seamstress still has the same fabric. Crossing fingers. Well time to get ready for bed since I have another long day at work tomorrow. Wow can't believe I drove 20+ plus hours back and forth within such a short few days. |
What a sight for sore eyes...looks like someone has made himself right at home...welcome home sweet Yoshi, welcome home. |
Bless his sweet heart! I am so glad you have your Yoshi back with you! |
I love the pics, glad the dental went well |
I am so glad Yoshi is settling in. Thanks for updating I can image how busy you've been. Glad you are safely back. |
I know you must be exhausted. Yoshi looks so content. I am so happy to hear that all went well. :) Thank you for taking the time to update and share pictures! :) |
So glad you were able to get Yoshi last weekend and take care of his health needs. Sounds like he is going to have a happy forever life now. Hope you get some sleep and thanks for taking time to update. I remember first reading this heartbreaking thread years ago and now to read the happy ending for Yoshi is so heart warming. Hugs. |
What a wonderful ending to a heart breaking story. Congratulations and I know each day will bring new memories filled with love and happiness. |
Awww.....he looks like he's living the high life in that little bed!! |
I am so happy to hear that you and Yoshi made it home safely. All that driving, and the emotions must have left you exhausted. Hope you get some rest and enjoy having your little boy home. They all look so cute in their beds, it's nice that they get along. |
Nice to see Yoshi with his new pals. So happy things turned out well. What a nice Thanksgiving it will be for you and yours. Cheers! |
I am so glad Yoshi is fitting in again with your gang. He is such a cutie as are they all. Such a wonderful story for us to all share around the Thanksgiving table of how God blessed him and you this year. |
@ xxmxaxrxyxx, Mary you mentioned you don't like to feed wet food, and I don't either. However, it might help Yoshi if you moisten his kibble with a little warm water or chicken broth. It would be easier on his mouth as he heals from dental extractions. Good luck. He sure is a little cutie, even after his long adventure. He has such beautiful rich coloring, and that sweet little face. Hope he continues to adjust well to being back with you and your pack. |
OMG that pic is so adorable x's 3! Momo had 3 small molars in the back pulled on his last dental cleaning & I had to moisten his kibble, sometimes I add a tablespoon of canned food. He doesn't chew his kibble anymore, so he gets moistened food all the time now. |
I'm sure we are all thrilled to hear how you are doing with Yoshi and your other babies. It was probably hard for him to have to go right in for the dental but it was best to get it over with so he can start feeling better that much quicker. Maybe you could just soften the kibble rather than feed him can food if you have to. I love their little cuddle caves! I have one for Gracie but it is not nearly as thick as as yours are. Did you have those made for them? I won't leave clothing on Gracie while I'm gone so it's great to have a cuddle sack for her to curl up in when no one is home to hold her. |
