New puppy owner- help!! hello all! I just put a reservation deposit down on my first yorkie! It is a little boy, and he will be ready for me to pick him up in May. I am beyond excited! I have been talking to the breeder frequently, but am a little nervous at how much weight he has gained recently. He weighed in at 15 oz at 2 weeks! The breeder tells me that the mom is just nursing them a lot. The mom is 6 lbs and the dad is just barely 3 lbs. Is weighing this much normal while nursing? Thanks! |
Hi, and welcome to YT!! Congrats on your new baby! There is lots of good advice and information here on YT, which will help you feel less nervous when you get your puppy. :) You'll probably be able to find lots of answers to your many questions by using the search up at the top. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have questions without answers!! :D I don't know how much the puppy should weigh during nursing, but again, WELCOME!!! :welcome4: |
I too put my deposit down on my little girl, she will be coming home first week in March and it seems like it has been an eternity. My little girl weighs 1lb 7oz at 1 month. The mother is 7lbs and the father is 3.5 pounds, they say her weight will be around 5 or 5.5 lbs as an adult. Hope this helps a bit. :congrats:on your new little boy. |
