Female Yorkie names
 
Hello! Prince will be getting a sister in a few weeks. Ive only gotten a few things for her because I know things can change in 5weeks.... I went to go see her today and she is ADORABLE!
I need help thinking of names.... How do you guys usually choose names for your babies???

SO far i have:
zora (neale hearston)
maya (angelou)
laila (ali)
nu-nu (from ATL)
tyra (banks)
michelle (obama)
sasha (obama)
malia (obama)
gracie
bella
jada (pinkett smith)
cicely (tyson)
sanaa (Lathan)
suki

Btw, I am naming my dogs after 50s rock stars, hence Johnny (J.R.) Cash. My next girl is going to be Valerie June Carter Cash.:p

I named Jackson after Johnny Cash's song! LOL. "I'm goin' to Jackson...."

I love Elvis too so I was possibly going to name him after something relating to Elvis.

or Duchess

My girls' initials spell out PACK
Princess, Angel, Candy, Kissy. I added Meiah this past summer so now i have MPACK! :)

HAHA!! I should have named prince something else because ACTS too much like a prince. A Prince AND a Princess!! I dont think i can handle it. My moms dog is named duchess but Fergie is cute!!

Whenever I name a new puppy who's never had a name before I always hold off till they've been home a few days. They start to relax and show their personality more and more. I choose their name on how they act and what they look like. A friend got a new 9 week old puppy and wanted to name it after a flower. It has two black eyes so I said I'd call it "Black Eyed Susan". It's 11 weeks now and skitters all over the floor, so after I puppy sat last time I said I'd name her "Skittles". They named her "Dixie" shows you what I know. LOL

I also wait to see the personality. When I got my baby, she was tricky, my husband said that we should name her Tricksie. Fits her so well.

i dont know why im so tempted to give her a "human" name rather than a "dog name" My sister has a dog name Lisa and they go out she calls her everyone looks at her like she is a retard lol

That is something to think about. My step-brother bred and showed black labs in the 70's. One couple bought a pup that the husband wanted to name "lord" something or other. The woman asked my step-brother to please tell her husband he could not name the dog that name. She was going to be the one to show it in the ring and refused to be heard saying, "sit lord, stand lord, stay lord". LOL

When I got Chloe, she didn't have a name for a week!!! I needed to see her personality. Chloe was definitely the name for her!!

I agree with waiting to see the personality. Our little schnauzer that passed away in Nov. name was Mandy. I orginally was going to name her Mindy and Mandy just fit her. Our little yorkie Kayla, I wanted to name Kaylee. My husband said, no, she is a Kayla. He was right. Fits her to a tee. The breeder ask me what the name of our new schnauzer was going to be and Lexi just came to mind. Lexi fits her perfect. You will have the right name when you get her. They just seem to fit them when you see their personality. Good luck with your new baby. Its always exciting to get a new little sweetie.

I had wanted to name Penny "Rigby", from the Beatles song, but my fiance said that Rigby sounded like a boy's name, so we went with Penny, like Penny Lane.

He wants to get a Golden Retriever in the future-- if it is a boy, it may end up a Rigby. I just think that would be a great dog name, and we'd have a little theme going.

Elenore was "Rigby's" first name. (girl)

I thought of Tinkerbelle's name before I got her - I'd seen the litter at around 3 weeks old, and her mum was called Poppy, her dad was called Scruff (lol) and I looooved the character from Peter Pan!!! And with nicknames like Tinky, Bella etc I couldn't resist!!! She definately suites it though xXx

I like Fergie! We liked Lexi but I always call her Noodles. I don't know why but it fits her. Sometimes I even shorten it up to Noods. So the personality thing really plays alot in the name.

My names are Mollie Mae, Abbi Rose, and Penolope Rose (Penny) call name and a little male Brody Joe. Penny is middle name is after her Mom, Abbi Rose and Brody's middle names Joe after his father Cody Joe. I also have a Pek./Poode mix Bailey Bear.

Picking a name for my female Yorkie is been tricky, we just got her though so I am just sit back and watch her to see if it comes to me. So far I have come up with Bella ( I really like this one), Marley, Mia, Maya. Well that's all I have at this point. We named our male Toto so everyone keeps saying Dorthy but I am not too sure I like that one even though it would be cute to have Dorthy, and Toto lol..

I wanted a yorkie for a looooong time before I got Yumi, and I picked out the name before I knew what breed I wanted. I actually got Yuri (minpin/chihuahua) before I got Yumi and picked his name because I thought they sounded cute together lol
