Wimpering , whining , and barking ! Suzi has been quite the stinker today. We also have cocketiels. They are a pair and are sitting on eggs. All day Suzi has been barking, and wimpering at them. She has done this before , but not so much as today. What can I do to get her to leave them alone? WHy is she having a fit over them ? I hate it when she cries at the cage . What could be causing her such great anxiety? The birds have been there longer then Suzi has . Is this jsut too much for her to handle? |
A spray bottle works wonders for barking!;) |
I would love to know how you cope with Yorkies and cockatiels. I have a wonderful little gray guy named Buddy who talks up a storm. One of my Yorkies ignores him, but the other one lies in wait under his cage and can't wait to pounce. Poor Buddy, he can hardly come out of his house anymore. My bird was here way before my Yorkies also, but you'd never know it. |
Simon barks at them in Petsmart My Simon likes to bark at them at the Petstore. He actually runs straight to the cages as soon as we enter the store. Sadly it looks cute, like a little excited kid. Anywho, I've bee able to make him stop barking by picking him up and not letting him see the birds if he barks. I have to do this several times, but he does get it. He eventually just sits there and wags his tail excitedly, albeit quietly. |
How long have the birds been sitting? It is time for hatching? Dogs can be surprisingly attuned to such things...maybe Suzi is trying to tell you something? |
