is charlie normal? Lately charlie loves to stick out his tongue and licks everything including me. Sometimes, he will only stick out the tip of his tongue. Is this normal? Is this another one of them doggie stages that he will grow out of? |
I would say YES :) completely normal for A Yorkie. Suzi is a licker too! not sure if they grow out of it or not, she is 11 months, and loves to kiss everybody all the time. :aimeeyork |

I can't believe you posted this because I was going to post something very similar. Prince will lick also, but his tongue is fully extended when he does it. This usually happens after he eats and it goes on for at least 3-5 minutes, at different times. I usually call his name to make him stop. If your hand is there, he'll lick that; if not, he'll lick the air!??? |
Yes he's normal!!! I think it's totally normal. My pups always are licking. Harle always has his tongue out. He's smiling at you!!!:p |

I was nervous at first when Coco used to sit there with his tongue out. Looked so cute but looked kind of kookie.:p I thought it was because his front baby teeth came out and was waiting for the "big boy" teeth to come in. But he is now going to be 2 in June and he still does it but not quite as often. I love it when his little tonguey is out soooo cute. He is the only one of my 3 that does it. Want to kiss him up :D |
Baxter is a licking machine... he has kisses for everyone he comes in contact with. I think it's normal. I have to say though that I haven't seen him sticking out his tongue at me yet (maybe he does it behind my back!) hehe. |
Mine sticks the tip of his tongue out every once in a while...usually after playing for a long time. It's the cutest thing...def a yorkie thing. He also has a tendency to lick my feet when I'm lying down...and gives kisses all the time. It's normal...and very cute. I just love the little furballs!!:D |
My kids and their dad allow my dogs to lick their hands and arms... I on the other hand have not allowed them to repeatedly lick me so they don't even try on me anymore. That's one thing I have never been into is dog kisses! |
Trust me its normal. I have a 7 yr old yorkie who is a licker and her tongue is always sticking out....usually just the tip. It is the most adorable thing. My cat is the same way....her tongue is usually sticking out when she is laying down. |
One of my yorkies is the same way, she is always licking everyone. When she gets tired the tip of her tounge sticks out. Its just so darn cute!! I figure her tounge sticks out when she is tired because it is sooooo long. :animal36 |
yep, it's a yorkie thing! I would say that the licking is completely normal! At my mom's house two hours ago, our one yorkie, (Bandit) LOVES TO LICK! its so weird, he doesnt lick her, only new people. He tries to lick me all the time! He would do it for hours on end if I would let him! lol!!! He also does the tongue sticking out thing. The funniest part is when he is sitting with my mom, and looking at me and licking the air bc he can't reach me! He's adorable!!:animal-pa |
