SweetViolet | 02-16-2009 09:32 AM | Update and new pics of Puddin' 4 Attachment(s) We've had her ten days and she is 7.5 weeks old. She has had numerous accidents around the house, but she does know what the puddle pad is for and is getting better and better at using it.
She has found her voice and learned how to bark...it is SOOO funny to hear that tiny little "yip yap" sound. I have dedicated the dressing portion of our big bathroom to her, so she has a tile floor for her toys, and her crate, bed, food and water bowls, and puddle pad all in her own area. The rest of the bathroom is one step up from her section, and she's too small to jump up the step. So, while I am in the shower, she will try to climb up that step, growling and barking in her frustration...it is hilarious to watch!
She loves Hubby...he is her Big Toy. When he comes into the room, she gets all alert and tries to get to him. Mama is fine for snoozing and cuddling and to get her to a puddle pad on time, but for sheer joy of playing, there is nothing like Papa.
She knows her name, the command "kisses," and is learning "come." She will walk on a leash if she is wearing a harness...not if she is wearing a collar. And she at least has an idea what "no" means, as she is now testing it! Sit, stay, and heel are next on the agenda.
The two nights we had to leave the mess in the bathroom (due to the burglary) saw her sleeping in our bed, where she is now convinced she belongs. I woke up this morning to fined her burrowed into the crevasse between Hubby's pillows and mine.
Ten days as a Yorkie Mama and I am hooked!
These are pics taken of her on Valentine's Day, dressed in her fancy harness...rosebud print, silk ribbons, and Battenburg Lace collar. She was SOOO cute! Attachment 265506 Attachment 265507 Attachment 265508 Attachment 265509 |
