I've had Olivia since March, and it that whole time I have never been successful in getting a good topknot in her hair. She always shakes it out immediately. But I put one in today that's lasted about 3 hours! I am so excited I had to show her off and tell all of you with stubborn topknotless yorkies that there is still hope!!! :happyboun

Have you tried placing an elastic band only . I do that and it work everytimes with my pups .

OMG SHE IS CUTE !!! I love her face she looks FULL of little attitude - I think she's telling the camers - I'm too sexy for my bow !

KEEP Practicing - it does get easier ! We all had trouble at first - I used little bows from Petedge and the more I did it... the better I got - You can do it ! She is very pretty in her topknot.

She is a beauty .

I had my girls when they were 1 year old and never get used to have bow . I started by placing elastic band for short period of time then I started with little baby's bows , now they are used to them .

She's really cute! Good job conquering that top knot! Mine still won't let his stay in for more that 5.3 seconds!

Actually, I used a latex band to make the pony. Then I attached a velcro baby bow I got from the dollar section at target. So what if its so far forward on her head it makes her look like Pebbles Flintstone? At least I did it :D :D

That is too cute! She does look like Pebbles- I use the colored latex bands from the kids section at Walmart they are like two bucks and you twist them three or four times and thats it.......She isn't likeing the bows right now so we are just doing the top knot- other wise it is a thirty minute fight!

I'm surpised so many of your babies don't like the bow. Coco gets SOOOO excited if she even sees the bow. If she sees it she jumps on the couch and she lays down REAL still until I have it on. I am thinking she knows she looks good in it or something. LOL...I haven't figured out yet why she actually WANTS me to put it in her hair and is happy about it.

do you just use regular elastic bands from the store? Don't they get tangled in thier hair?

Hey how long does their hair have to be before you can put anything in it? I would like to put bows in Ciera's hair but I don't think it is long enough. What do you guys think?

If her hair isn't very long yet, you can always start with one of those baby claw clips, That is what I use on my puppies.. :p

Too cute ! I remember Cheri's hair when she was that young - I used a little claw but it was mostly for ME and not her - but it DOES get them used to something on their heads....the drawback is you have to watch them very carefully - the clip can pinch their little heads or they can get it out and possibly choke when they're that young - I put one in Cheri's hair for PICTURES only - then took it out right away.

When you have about 1-1/2 of hair - it's way easier to put a little band in it if you want - not too tight but it helps them get used to it.

Ciera is so cute. You can use the baby hair clips, but make sure she doesn't take it off and chews on it.

I would gather as much as you can and start getting her used to it when it is long enough. That's what I did.

Gus still will try and shake his topknot off. I use plastic bands and they stay one just like a rubber band but dont pull the hair when I teke the topknot off like runnber bands do. With her hair up or down she still is so pretty!

I have Goody latex bands. They are really really small so I only twist them like twice. The latex is awesome, it slipped right out with no tangles!

That's so funny. Penny is that way about her sweater - she just loves it!! Her first bow should be here any day now. I sure hope she takes to it the same way... and that she has enough hair for it! :)

I was taught to use three latex bands. Now lets see if I can explain it.
The first one goes down close to the head, the second goes close to
the end of the hair ( you probably have to twist a couple times on the
latex) so now you have hair sticking straight up :) Next you pull the
top back and secure it with the 3rd latex band. It stays in really well
and at that point, you can put a nice bow on it. If when you pull it
back the loop of hair looks too long, take #2 band out and cut some of
the hair ( not too much, you can always cut more if it ends up still being
too long. ) I hope this makes some sense, Really there are so many cute
ways to do it, I really like them all. By the way she is a beauty.
