Another scam?? I live in a very small town, maybe 3000 people, with a weekly newspaper. Today's paper had an ad for "2 Free Yorkie Puppies"!! It had an email address to notify, no phone number. I sent an email and basically said if the ad was for real, I would love to have the babies, or at least help find them good homes. I went into detail how they should interview potential owners and advise of the sometime unexpected expenses when owning yorkies. I just feel sure its a scam, but we're in such a small town. Anyway, I'll post when (and if) I hear from the ad. Keep your fingers crossed, just maybe its for real! DH would love that! (Not!) Our bed is full now with the 5 we have!:p |
I too answered an ad for 2 free yorkies (what a deal to pass up lol) there was no other info, just an email address, and I asked a lot of questions, then the next day got an email back (in broken english) from someone claiming to be a christian missionary and how sorry the puppies are now gone with him to africa cuz he couldnt get home for them but he is so worried for their lives that he would ship them back to me. blah blah blah. I was angry but knew better than to email him back. Never heard back from him. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. I learned my lesson, thankfully, I didnt lose my money. |
Hmmm......wonder if it could be the same ad?? Its just that our paper is such a small distribution. But, you're right, if it sounds too good to be true, chances are......would you recoginize the email address if you saw it?? |
i might recognize the name, it was a only a few weeks ago, am in a town of 4000 or so, but this ad was in the larger area paper, I think they just pick papers randomly |

Probly some guy in one of those internet cafes that youve seen on dateline and the sort. I wont answer email addresses anymore. Give me a number and I want to see the dog in person. |
Thanks for your replys.....I'm certainly not getting my hopes up. I really don't expect this to go any further. |
It is a scam....Have seen the add before.... |
Scam Just google mr.jameswhite22@gmail.com and look at all the different newspapers he posted the same ad in. Its really kind of comical. :) |
Hey I just googled the guy and  there were a lot of ads in different papers. Not just the 2 yorkies but he was even trying to scam someone for a queen size mattress. I bet that was so the yorkies would have someplace to lay their little heads. Wow |
All are scams I'm a newspaper editor and we get 4-5 of these ads submitted by e-mail each week. We will never run them. Some newspapers fall for them because apparently those who place the ads do pay for the ads, but then they scam those who reply. Seems as if most are for either Yorkies or English bulldog puppies. Seems as if it's always something. |
Man, you're right! I googled the email address and there are tons of ads! I did call our newspaper and inform it was a scam. Some people!! Just hope no one falls for it! |
