Cooper is leaving... As some of you know, I adopted Cooper from a co-worker about a month ago. She could not care for him because of health reasons(brain tumor). Cooper gets along so well with my Lulu and despite of his sometimes destructive behavior, I have really grown attached to him... I received a call from someone today saying that my co-worker is really saddened by the decision she made of giving up Cooper and though she knows he has a good family and I give her pics of him almost every week...she really does miss him. Her health is not that good, she works because she loves what she does but I don't think she really needs to...she has a brain tumor. I went to see her at her office today and she broke down to cry...I could not tell her she could not have him back because I know in my heart this little dog was spoiled alot!...As much as it broke my heart I made the decision of returning him to her. She had him for 1.5 years, I've only had him a month. She cried and re-assured me Lulu and I can come see him anytime... Lulu and I are going to miss this little pooper eater but I know in my heart I made a good decision:( |
That is so sad, but you did a nice thing by letting her take her back. I know how hard it must be. |
Only you know, and it sounds like you did the correct thing. She told you that you can come visit and I would. She may need you later. |
That was a wonderful thing you did. You must feel so good inside knowing you brought happiness back into this lady's life. Your awsome. |
You've done a wonderful and selfless deed to give Cooper back...Blessings to you...:bravo::hands::hug60::big_hug: |
YOU are a WONDERFUL person!!!!!! |
Aw that was veryy sweet you have a big heart.:) |
What a sweet and compassionate thing to do. I think it would be great of you to keep in touch with her, as someone already said, she may need you later..... |
That was a very caring and selfless thing you did. :bravo: You may have helped her in more ways than you know. Cooper is probably going to bring so much to her life and may actually help her. I am glad she has a friend like you, and that you can stay in their lives. I hope you do so, cause they will need someone as caring and supportive as you there. |
You did a very noble thing, and you will get paid a hundred fold for your kindness. Way to go. |
Sounds to me like you did the noble thing. You can always tell, because it is always the harder thing to do! |
Thank you all for your kind words, it sure makes it easier for me and makes me feel better that I did a good think. She only works 2 floors below me:D, so I'll definitely see her often....And of course Lulu and I will definitey keep friends with our Cooper. I'm picking up all of his stuff and I know he is noticing something is up, dogs always know.:( |
That's such a tough decision to make, but you did a really good thing letting her have him back. Its such a sad situation all around, but letting her have Coop back will give her a little joy back in her life. I know it'll be really hard for you, but you did a good thing :) |
Well, Cooper is gone:(. They were both estatic when they saw each other, so many doggy kisses:). She cried of happines and I could tell Cooper missed her alot, though he looked at me sad when I waved good-bye. I'm gonna miss him but we decided to get together for play dates at a near by doggy park on weekends. |
You did a wonderful thing. Stay in touch ...she's sick, and she may need help. You and Lulu will be Cooper's safe haven when things get bad. It should make her feel better, too - knowing that Cooper has people who love him. In her position, I would be very grateful knowing that I could share my last days with a beloved pet, and that someone would be there to care for him when I no longer could. |
