hahahhaah I love it!!! and AMEN to that! That little pup is only four months old. Hang in there...little Lola will get it. And besides, it is your house to do as you please. Just try to ignore stupid advice from ill informed people. You got lots of great tips on this thread! |

I am a Mother-In-Law. And I firmly believe, that MIL's should NEVER tell their Daughter-in-Laws how to train their puppies, or raise their children. With that said, I think your MIL is the one in need of more training than your sweet little puppy. Next time she uses your bathroom, give her a cookie, pat her on the head, and say "Good girl". ;) Suggest to her, the age old advice: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything, at all. And please, don't even consider rubbing your puppy's nose in her tinkle. It won't teach her anything, but that you're mean. Yorkie's ares smart, but often are difficult to housebreak. It takes time, patience, and consistency. Just pick her up, when she starts to squat, and either take her out, or place her on a wee wee pad. She'll catch on in no time. Sheesh. I hate to think what she might say when you have kids. Sheila |

Princess is potty trained but she still has accidents. If I dont pay attention she will go at the bottom of the steps. and pee And she knows she was bad and goes straight to her crate. She isnt in trouble unless we just took her out. But we never hit or rub her nose in it. She does get sent to her crate if she wont do a dokey outside if its to cold and then comes in and does it in the house. Its like a time out for her, she has to stay in the crate for five minutes with the door open. But for the most part she is trained unless we dont pay attention. I think yorkies are like little kids they have accidents. And if you freak them out they will have them all the time. |
I think I was really lucky with Tia as she was potty trained by 14 wks, but it was 2 wks of constant positive rewards that got us there. Now she waits at the door to go out, keep going, be patient and dont worry about little accidents at times.:goodluck: |
