Vomiting in Six-Year Young Yorkie Sadie has been vomiting for the past two months. It happens about once every two weeks, sometimes more, sometimes not for a month. I called my vet last week. She said because she is active, eats well, poop is solid, and she sleeps the same as always that this is her way of dealing with an upset stomach. She eats grass sometimes too. It happened again last night about 10P. She does not hardly bark, so when she comes up to me and stares at me, that is my cue that she needs to go out. I took her right outside, she ate a few blades of grass, and then threw up her dinner and some grass. She runs back into the house 90 miles an hour, drinks water and sleeps well, all night. Has anyone else had this happen? It just drives me crazy. She is fine other than this. I am going to boil some chicken and rice for her today, and start her on a different diet. I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this, or knows what her problem could be. Many thanks. |
What is she eating? |

She eats Canidae (a very good quality of dog food), washed lettuce, and sometimes a small bit of boiled egg (just the white part). And by small, I do mean a very small portion. I stopped the egg feeding though. Once a day, she gets a treat. It is an Ole Roy biscuit, or a colored fish shape biscuit. But, I recently read that dyed treats are bad, so I have eliminated this. She gets a very small piece of treat inside of a Kong, and that is it. It is mind boggling. She is also indoors except for when she goes potty because it is real cold here right now. Thanks. |
Did you happen to get a new bag of dog food at the time that this started? There are reported problems with Canidae due to a formula change. Other than that, you can try cutting out treats and possibly changing food very slowly. If that doesn't work, it may be a good idea to do blood work. My dog used to throw up every couple weeks until I changed her food. I'm not saying that's teh problem here but it is definitely not normal. |

I am boiling chicken and rice right now, and keep her on it for a week or so, and hope this helps. My special thanks. |
