I know in California they definitely do random checks. When I lived with my mom they did them a few times a year. (Monrovia, which isn't that far from Covina). My mom only had one dog and one time she forgot to renew the license, they gave her 30 days to renew it or pay a fine. They would always come to the door, peek over fences, etc... I don't know where they find the time or the funds, but they do. Even in the Palm Springs area I have seen them do it. Sometimes at the dog park they check your animals. (Our dog park has rules that you must be UTD on shots and be licensed, but of course people do come without.) |

I would just say my daughter and the little ones are visiting .... But agree... never let them in ur home :D |
I know in NJ they will come out to check. Definitely if a neighbor complains, and also if you've just moved into the neighborhood. My friend had to license her cat, and it doesn't even go outside. But she sits in the window and someone saw her. Animal Control said she must be licensed whether she is indoor or outdoor. |
I wasn't even aware cats needed licenses. Only dogs up here as far as I know. Maybe they should enforce kitty licensing and limits per household too, that way there'd be fewer strays and non-strays leaving their mark in other people's gardens. :p And that will help control the overpopulation of cats in general that are in shelters and everywhere you look. :) |
I am in Santa Clarita Valley and animal control has been by my house for random checks. Once on a complaint that I had a vicious dog. (Prior dog was a german shepard ) I opened our door, my molly girl and I stepped in the courtyard to speak with the officer. As I answered her questions Molly sat next to her, smelling her doggie scents and wagging her tail. She eventually asked me where the other dog was, the vicious one. I told her it was licking her boot. LOL |

animal control I had 7 dogs and I am suppose to have no more than 3. I had 5 Silky's 1 Just let a couple of dogs out at a time, they all yorkie and my dgt. had a scottie, she lives with me.I only registered 3 thru the town for a dog liscense. Usually when you get their rabbie shot, the vet has to send it to the town, thats how they know how many dogs you have. I had a vet that covered for me, but I think animal control should be out picking up dead animals off the roads especially when you call them and you keep going by and the animal stays their for days. I ony put e dogs out at a time, my neighbors didn't even know how many dogs I had, they all ent to the Rainbridge and I bought a little Yorkie, she is 17months old and the love of my life. GOOD LUCK |
