We don't usually let her dig on the couch unless there's a blanket between her and the cushion. Her claws aren't very strong or sharp though. But I did meet a shih tzu last night who had very, very sharp, strong claws. He almost ripped my jeans and left some nasty scratches on my arm because I wouldn't pick him up. |

Yeah , my couch is brown and I wonder what they think my couch actually is :D They do sometimes look at me funny when I just flop down ...as if to say..."Aren't you going to dig at your spot first ?" They probably think I'm just as crazy for not digging at my "spot" as I think they are for digging at theirs. |

One time I was laying on the couch with a blanket over me. Chip was between my legs under the blanket and Smokey was below my feet. Smokey I guess decided he didn't have enough cushioning for his liking and pulled the blanket with his teeth off of me then started digging it into a comfortable spot for himself. All I could do was laugh and get another blanket! |

Maci digs & digs & DIGS! I too am afraid that she will tear a hole so when she starts I throw her blanket so she can rearrange it the way that makes her happy...don't know why or where she thinks she is going but she does it too! Mac does alittle bit until he gets comfy but not to the the extreme that Maci does...silly dog... |

Digging Here was I thinking I was the only one with a Digging problem!! Both my girls dig and dig I am sure one day they will land up on the other side of the world! Trouble is.... they do it on the carpets, so my bedroom carpet is ruined and so is another one. They also do it in their beds, so the cushions are ruined in those too. They are not allowed on my furniture...good job too! Thing is, it's so noisy when they do it in the middle of the night, last night I was woken up so many times. I am at my wits ends trying to stop them as it wakes me up so much. There must be a way to discourage thisd digging isnt there??? |

I wouldn't let them dig on leather furniture... but Ive never had my dogs ruin fabric furniture. My leather ottoman has seen better days due to them walking on it. I don't let them get on it, but sometimes they will go from the couch to the door and the ottoman is in the way so they will run across and jump off the ottoman putting claw marks in it! |
