Tara... you did a great job putting everything together & Michelle.. thanks for booking the room. A special Thank you to all the YT vendors who sent samples &/or raffle prizes. Here is a list... I hope I dont leave anyone out. By the way... ALL proceeds that was raised today went to OKYR & their new surrendered sweetie, Pierre, who has to have LP surgery so he can find that perfect forever home. We raised a little over $200 yesterday !! and Pet 'n Shape [www.petnshape.com] You're welcome ;), but seriously a HUGE THANKS to Michelle (Katys mom), Angi (Rusty's Momma), Patti (bellabluesmom), Lora (darnlora), and Diana (PrincessDiana) for all your help organizing, finding/reserving/etc... a space, gathering donations, and for bringing/making things for the event! I absolutely did NOT do this alone!!!!! (I can't even imagine that....it was a lot of work what little I did do! :p) I passed on the "thank you" to Patrick (my bf) for doing so good on mop patrol, etc... I was soooo glad to have him there!!! :D |
Looks like you guys had a great time and raised money for a great cause! It's always fun to get together with fellow YT'rs too. :) |
Looks like fun! So many yorkies! |
This was sooo much fun. Every where you looked ....Yorkies. Mine were pooped when we got home. It was nice to be able to put faces to the names and to see so many different Yorkies. Thank you very much to all the YT vendors who donated. All the products were awesome. I'm making my order lists. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. You Rock. |

Well for me it was better than a box of the best chocolates. Lol I am already looking forward to the next one! My girls had a great time they were tuckered out for sure!!!! |
Peanut Butter Dog Cookies I've had a few people asking for the recipe for the dog cookies I made. I actually got the recipe off YT (http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sou...html--#3)....I think the OP'er said that it was from when the Three Dog Bakery had been on the Food Network. Bella loves these, and since she can't have the majority of store-bought dog treats anyway because of the kinds and amount of protein in them, I just bake these for her so she has treats!! Anyway, here it is: 2 cups flour 1 Tbsp Baking Powder 1 cup skim milk 1 cup peanut butter Preheat oven to 375F. Combine the flour and baking powder in one bowl and the milk and peanut butter in another bowl (just keep stirring...they will combine!) Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix well. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface (I just put a sheet of wax paper on the counter, or I've used just a clean counter without anything on it too) and knead dough. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick and cut out shapes. Place shapes on a greased cookie sheet and bake for ~20 min or until lightly brown (I think I only baked for ~18 because of my oven). Cool completely and store in an airtight container. I made 160 small heart shaped dog cookies using this recipe! (I actually doubled it for the meet up, but I usually either just make the whole recipe, or occasionally I halve it too.) Don't they smell fantastic?!! I tried one the first time I made them (I try anything like that that's made with human ingredients just to see what my baby's eating ....I think I've about got that out of my system though) and they're really, really bland tasting, but it's amazing how good they smell! I had to make peanut butter cookies for us because the smell made me crave them! :D |
Videos from the meet last Saturday Here is a link to a couple of videos from the Yorkie meet Saturday. It was our first one and we had such a great time. It was wonderful for us seeing Chanel running around and wagging her little stubby tail. She had a ball. Just a few months ago she was still in a puppy mill. Thank you, OK Yorkie Rescue, for saving our little girl! |
Darla Thanks for posting videos. Those are great! In that second one you can really see Chanel's tail waggin'. She did GREAT & seems to really like the interactive atmoshere. The other thing I think about the second video is "you gotta love the meet & greet known as the sniffing train" |
Those videos were great! I'm at my desk at work laughing! :) |
You all look like you had a lot fun and so did the Pups. I would love to do something like this in Atlanta. |
