can yorkies catch head lice? Do you think they can ,seeing as they have hair like ours and not fur? |
i would think so, why not? |
I was told by my vet years ago when my daughter had the unfortunate experience(shuddderrr!)that no dog can catch lice. Isn't mange the equivilant of lice , but in dogs? Plus I think we would see lice delousing for pets on the market. |
that is a very good question? i would think they could, just like we can get fleas from them......:animal-pa |
No breed is susceptible to human head lice. There is, however, a lice that affects dogs that is easier treated but isn't transferrable to humans |
We had a litter of beagles last Summer that all had lice. It was confined to the litter but it was a pain in the arse to clean the kennel they were in , put new bedding in and treat mama and six week old puppies several times. The vet said they got it from the old straw bedding in their kennel. the dog lice does not affect humans. |

Wow...so some of you need flea collars? A flea may have biten you but humans are not infested with fleas...humans are not a flea's choice of host. |
The reason I started this thread is because I work in a school and there is an outbreak of headlice at the moment and Ive only caught them once in 8 years(that was enough) but interested to know if I caught them again would my baby catch them if I didn't notice them in time to treat them?:animal37 I was thinking about this question in maths lol |
