Am I doing something wrong!? I am the main provider and care taker to Fiona. I know that she loves me, but sometimes, I get real jealous that she will kling to my boyfriend, and not so much me. It sorta upsets me. If he isn't home, she is by my side, or if I am at my parents, she will stay with me. I'm not sure if its because my boyfriend NEVER yells at her, and pretty much lets her do anything? I just want her to love me all the time, and I feel like she hates me sometimes. Is there anything else I should/should not be doing? I am the one that bathes her, takes her outside, grooms her, trims her nails, and I get anal with certain things too. Anyone else have this problem!? |
;) It's all a presence thing Dogs will gravitate to the most alpha person in the room It's not that she doesn't love you or care about you There really isn't anyway to change that make sure you're the one who feeds her tho |
I do everything!!!!!!! :D I feed her, I give her treats, I give her new toys! |
When my parents (Callie's grammy and grandpy) come over she is always messing with them mostly my dad but if something scares her she comes runing back to me. Its not because she gets mad at me or dosent love me at that time she just wants to play with the new people who will leave after awhile. |
I guess I shouldnt be complaining about this, since when i let her out, she goes on command for me, and quick, when my boyfriend takes her out it takes FOREVER for her to do anything for him, so i guess there are pros and cons with her. ha ha |
I think girls gravatate towards males and boys gravitate towards females... thats why I have 2 boys! hehe |

yeah, lucy was raised on a dog farm (not a puppy mill) in florida, and i guess there was a male worker there that wasnt very nice, so it stuck with her. the odd thing is, is that now she is warming up to my father, when he comes in the door she will bark and bark at him, if my dad is the only one home, she would hide upstairs if he was downstairs, and when he came upstairs she would be downstairs. since i dont live at home anymore, i think with older age since she is 7 now she is growing out of it..... |
My prada is a seven month old female and she warms up to guys a lot more than girls. She loves playing with new people but she always comes back to sit by us. You might try loving on her after she gets in trouble, and not staying mad about something she's done, I think she can sense it. :) And whether or not she likes baths or nail clippings or anything, I think she still knows you're trying to help her and that you love her. Maybe she just likes exploring your boyfriend because he's a little change of scenery. Good luck! |
I have come to the conclusion that Roxy, now 9mts, is going through the terrible 2's......lol.....she want's to discover everything and everyone. She's stretching her wings, yet can't fly! She's always wanting to be in everybody's face if they come to the house or if we go out somewhere. I just keep a close eye on her because sometimes she will get over excited and it takes a while for me to bring her back to understanding I'm the boss. Maybe she got that attitude from me??????? She's a very need to know everything lil one and I want her to be, but I keep a close eye on her. I just can't wait for the teenager thing !!!!!!!!! When it's time to snuggle and she's tired, it's always right back to mama. That's my girl !! :) |
