Skin Problems. I have bought coat care products for Ruby and have been using these often when I groom her but now I see that her skin is flaking a lot so I have obviously stop using the products and now want to know if anyone can give me a suggestion of product to repair her skin and stop the flaking . Thanks :( |
you could try rubbing some baby oil into her skin it does help the flakie skin, and put a very small amount of cod liver oil in her food its ment to help with the skin also. hope thisis of some help wendy and rosie :rose: :yorkiesar |
products What products were you using and when..at bath time, brushing time etc ? Unforunately, oil into the skin will cause dry skin..it clogs the pores. Use a good dog shampoo and conditoner..mist the hair when brushing..avoid oil or greasy products directly tot he skin..wash it off well. |

advise I talked to the number dog dermatologist in Silver Spring MD..he wrote several books about skin...I was using a heavy coat oil on a few of mine and they had terrible dry skin..he said to avoid oily products..and that cleared it up..BUT, whatever works, works! If oil works for Rosie then I would certainly use it. It is best to use a good dog shampoo and conditioner..lightly spray water and brush at other times..too many products can cause a problem. Oil on the ear leather can create a problem called Leather Ear. |
