Hi, I just joined and in the process of getting my baby yorkie, there are so many breeders I don't know what to do..I just want a sweet little baby to love and spoil that will stay around three pounds, I have seen many just wondering if anyone has any thoughts..

You can check out some breeders in the Yorkies for Sale section. I'm not sure what other suggestions I can give you.

Welcome to YT, you'll absolutely love it. I'm sure there will be a few other people showing up soon to give you some places to look around! :D

Welcome! You might have a hard time finding a pup that small- 4-5 lbs seems to be the norm since "reputable" breeders won't breed a female under 4 lbs. Anyways- i hope you find the baby you are looking for!

it's ok :) We were all new once!

you want to push the "quote" button in the box of the person you want to respond to..


To find the breeder section look at the Big YORKIE TALK sign up at the top- under that is "forum" push that- look down the list until you see Yorkies for Sale and look in there :)

Here's a couple words of Advice.

1. Don't trust anyone that won't let you come to their home to see the puppies.

2. Don't trust anyone that won't let you see the parents.

3. Make sure you educate yourself on the Right questions to ask...when searching for a yorkie.

That's just a couple...Others may have a bit more advice!!

GREAT advice- another one- don't buy from any breeder saying they sell "teacups" this is against AKC rules and is misleading as there is no such things as a teacup. it is ploy used to charge more for smaller dogs- which should cost the same as other yorkies.

Another tip - Don't buy from a breeder willing to sell you a puppy younger than 12 weeks. A reputable breeder will wait until the pup is 12 weeks or older.

some breeders are 12 weeks or 2 lbs- whichever comes first :)
