Charlie is chewing like crazy He chewed up the neck part of his shirt the other day. Tonight he chewed up a hole in his portable crate..argh..need to go buy a metal crate that way he won't be able to chew thru it. |
He's a healty pup & may be teething. While you're out shopping, purchase some bully sticks for him to chew, & some bitter spray to use on things you want to stop him from chewing. |

Ah yes...the teething stage. Memories of Gucci chewing on one of my Fendi wallets when he was a couple of months old. Or the Sergio Rosi heels he chewed on....the couple of times I wanted to roll a newspaper for him! I first tried some natural bitter solution I purchased at Persmart but quickly found Bitter Apple worked best (also found at Petsmart). Be sure to have chewing toys and keep prospective items off the floor...good luck! |
Oh yes, Bogey liked wooden baseboards & Pebbles loooveess sheetrock (walls)! Have things to keep them busy. Put deodorant where you don't want them to chew. Don't try to correct them unless you catch them in the act. They'll eventually grow out of it. |
How well I remember those days, my sheets, (800 thread count), pillows, blankets, bedskirts, afgans. You would think that I never watched her, she was sneaky. |
That's what puppies do; It's the teething stage. Be sure he has plenty of things to chew on such as toys, bully sticks, etc. I've found the Hide-A-Squirrel to be a good entertainer. It's a toy where they have to pull squirrels out of the hive. They're available at PetSmart. Somebody also mentioned bitter apple spray which works well to keep their little mouth off of things you don't want chewed. :D Good luck!! ;) :D And if you want to try a Bully Stick, just let me know.
