Can babies eat too much? I have a new litter of babies that were born on Christmas day so they are about 5 weeks old now... My questions is, can they eat too much? The babies were all normal yorkie babes, 3 to 4 ounces at birth, but they are now absolutely huge! They look like slugs with legs, and their heads are far too small for their bodies..is that normal at this age? They are walking around now, but because they are so fat, they waddle more than walk...They play for about 5 to 10 minutes, then it looks like they are just worn out and they fall asleep again. The vet says they look really healthy, but he says it in that way that sounds like he's saying "wow, they're really fat!"....He says their hearts and lungs sound fine, so they are healthy, I just don't know if there is something more I or different I should be doing...I look at everyone else's pics on here of their babies, and are far slimmer than these.... I will try to get pics, but I'm a bit camera challenged... Any help? Thanks! |
Might I suggest that you post this question in the breeder's section? Different members read different sections. The ones who frequent the breeder's section would know how to answer your question. Hope you find an answer. Congrats on your new babies! |
The answer I think is yes But I agree post this in the breeders section where you will get more informed answers from people with a lot of experience with new borns |
